So, anyone else get an email from the Paramount lawyer? My account was hi-jacked a few weeks ago (they sold a bunch of bootleg tv dvd sets), and even though ebay cleared up all of false auctions and charges, I have Paramount emailing me to cease and desist selling bootlegs (pertaining to Star Trek). Email seems authentic since it listed my name and home address.
I havent gotten anything from a Paramount lawyer, but I did get an email from ebay that I had been reporting as violating Paramounts intellectual property rights on a Star Trek set that the hacker put up on my account. I had the auction killed, but also protested the VeRO report. Never heard from a lawyer.

I'm constantly getting emails from "ebay" and "paypal" saying that my account has unusual activity and they need me to just reenter my password to clear it all up. What the fuck? Then I go to my ebay and Paypal accounts and there is nothing new there (haven't used either in a couple years).

Those emails you keep getting are part of a scam called "fishing". Most of the time they look like normal emails, but they take you to a fake ebay page where the hackers get your username and passwords and then go on a rampage with your identity.

Those are phishing scams.

Never, under any circumstances, click the link in those e-mails and give them your password or any personal information. Even if they look like authentic eBay or Paypal e-mails, they aren't. They are bulk spam sent out to e-mail addresses for the purpose of credit card fraud/identity theft.

Only access your eBay and Paypal accounts by typing www.ebay.com or www.paypal.com into your browser, and then log in. Never follow a link in an e-mail regardless of how authentic it looks.
