question to those with amazon CC/GC

i keep accumulating those $25 amazon GC from using my amazon visa, but then everytime i want to go and spend it, i get lured in by the triple points, and instead of using a GC i just buy whatever i wanted using my card to make sure i get the points. is there ANY advantage to what im doing (getting triple points) or should i just start spending my GCs?

You're asking if it's better to use a gift certificate or spending actual cash?

The best thing to do is send the GC's to me, and *I'll* spend them, and then I'll let you buy me stuff from there, so you'll get triple points!!

My wife: "Oh... There's a 10% off sale? If I double my spending, I'll save TWICE as much!!!"

Umm, you're earning triple points TOWARDS a gift certificate. If you never use the certificates, you're not really earning anything.

I know what you mean but i stack them and keep them until a week or so when they're due and get something really big that i want. For instance i used $150.00 GC at amazon to purchase my home theatre system. Getting that much off of the system i wanted was great.

you know you didn't actually get this much off since you kept spending the actual money when you already had the GC's, right?
