I believe Cinderella, along with some other Disney titles (Aladdin for one), is currently on some "holiday promotion" temporary reduced price. I've seen both Cinderella and Aladdin at local B&Ms for about $16 in the past few days.

We don't need to see their invoices to confirm it. When it happens every time and it's widely recognized, that is an educated position.

I keep a list of titles I want to order along with DDD's prices. Some of these dated back to March of this year. When I placed my order(s) none of the prices had changed, a few had even dropped. I ordered 30+ titles, varying from new releases to catalog to TV sets. I've participated in the past three 20% off sales and never had any prices raised on titles I've ordered.

Just wanted to keep it balanced.

Got email saying my Ultimate Matrix LE shipped today, nice surprise, I thought they might not be able to fill it.
Order status hasn't changed, but it also hasn't on my other order, which allegedly shipped yesterday.
I don't really care what the order status says, as long as the item shows up on my porch, and my CC shows the right stuff.

Actually, on Friday, Cinderella was $8.99 at Circuit City. I paid I think $18 at DDD a few weeks ago (before the sale). S**t happens. I could of had a better deal if I had waited--oh well. Prices go up and down all the time, things go on sale, etc.

I saw the bunches o' Buffy at Best Buy as well. They really aren't a best buy, even without a 20% off code.
On each shipment there were titles identified as 'not shipped yet'.

Got my Buffy complete set and Friends complete set today from DDD. The Friends collection was actually still in its original shipping box from Warner Brothers (with some nice padding inside), and boxed separately with the Buffy Collection. The Friends set is a gift for my wife, who was hovering around, so I only got a quick look at it. But man it looks great.

They seem quite slow. I ordered *two* measly items on the 15th (both in stock), I didn't get email confirmation until the 17th, and I didn't get a shipping confirmation until nearly a week later on the 23rd.

I figure I'll be lucky to see them before Christmas.

Got my Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker today, but it was the regular version instead of the Uncut. I think I remember seeing someone else had this problem. Bummer.

How long did it take you to receive the DVDs? Did customs get them first?

My orders took 2 weeks. customs got ahold of both of them. taxs and $5 rip-off fee on all! DDD always gets caught by customs in my experince so far. some others stores happen to get by sometimes but the ALWAYS catch DDD orders.

First order - great. Missing a few slip covers, but all good.

Second order - so-so. Few that were suppose to be keepcases were snappers and one was missing a slipcover.

Third Order - great. Everything was as ordered.

So, they are clocking in at probably 80% positive from my end. Not bad. For the prices that the larger 2-discers were offered at, I'll definitely be shopping with them in the future - just not for those DVDs that are available in both cases.

Few comments:

I have always found the shipping to be just fine. Everything is shipped quickly, and it gets here much sooner than I usually expect. Of course, I probably have lower expectations, as I still remember the days of two-week shipping being quick.

Everything I have received has come perfectly mint. This was not the case with the last sale, but I was pleasantly surprised this time around.

A good number of my items actually dropped in price the day before the sale started, so I was very happy about that. Nothing I had been looking for went up in price.

I have a few items still on backorder, but they don't concern me very much. I don't mind the staggered credit card hits, and I'm in no hurry for the stuff right now.

I'm starting to get more than a little annoyed at DDD. Got my last 2 orders in today. One of the orders was missing 2 copies of an Extreme DVD (the rock band), with a line in pen leading to the grey box at the bottom right corner, which was stamped with a "this item is temporarily out of stock and will be shipped when available" notice. Then the second order had the same thing for Star Trek: Deep Space 9 seasons 1-7. I looked at my online invoice, and it had them listed as being shipped. I called DDD. Oh goody, they've gone to outsourcing overseas, and I have to talk to some middle-eastern guy that can barely speak English. He swears up and down that my items shipped, and I finally get him to understand that I didn't get them and the paper invoice says they're out of stock. He says he put in a new order for each of them and gave me a new order number... let's hope it actually goes through.

I'm thinking of calling or e-mailing and trying to get someone higher up to talk to so I can express my displeasure of the outsourcing. When a customer is already pissed that they didn't get their order, the last thing they want to do is deal with someone that doesn't communicate well in their language.

And just in case anyone starts knee-jerking and thinking I'm a racist, I'm not. I have the utmost respect for the fact that these people are conversationally fluent in a language that isn't their native tongue... god knows I'm barely fluent in my own language some days. But it's sheer stupidity to take people with heavy accents that do not fully understand the language and put them in a position of customer support.

I've been wondering myself if they're outsourcing. I have gotten some people who do seem to be foreign recently, but then the guy I talked to last night definitely did not sound foreign. He sounded like some American high school kid, really. Made me think that maybe they have just hired some Indian people here in the US. He couldn't figure out how to help me, so he offered to call me back, which he did an hour later. And so, after 3 phone calls and 2 e-mails, I finally got credited the difference for Millennium s3 (I bought it before it had its $15 price drop during the sale).

Anyone else get an order VASTLY different from what they placed? I received a couple of titles I had actually ordered, then a LOT of dvds I hadn't. Anyone else have this happen? They want me to ship stuff back and when they get it, they will reship my order.

How long will this take, and are they generally good about it? Any way I can get cross-shipping, where I can ship my stuff now and they also reship my order now?

Uggh this SUCKS. $500 in DVDs and I got junk I don't want!

Thanks!

The woman I spoke with was DEFINITELY Indian. And they still haven't fixed the error on my order. (I didn't receive the 20% off of all my items.) Less than 1/2 have shipped... I will NEVER use this company again.... not worth the headache...

Is the order addressed to you, or to someone else? Did you get billed for it? I think technically if you receive items in the mail that you didn't order, you can keep them for free.
Or did they 'say' they shipped Title A on the onvoice/packing slip, but accidentally shipped Title B instead?

My order, my packing slip both say the right titles (they're even checked off in pen!), and I was billed for the right items. The packing slip has my name, address, etc. However, the contents of the box are completely random. Nothing I ordered is there but instead a lot of stuff I didn't. There is some overlap but only a couple titles (and one of which is FF instead of WS)

They are now saying to wait 10 business days for them to arrive then they can mail them priority... still a little fearful that wouldn't arrive in time, ESPECIALLY seeing as they go back to DDD via media mail and that could take more than 10 days (during holiday season too...)

This happened during the June sale, in that a couple of people on here got each other's orders. I don't know if they went through DDD to fix it or just shipped it to each other directly to speed up things.
