If you order 2 item to qualify for free shipping, do u have to wait for it to become available or u have to release for the 2nd release for the free shipping deal

You will have to wait until the entire order is available. It is extremely rare that Amazon will ship items seperately when you choose the free shipping option(they did it once for me and I've ordered a ton from Amazon over the years).

it depends on what you ordered, if your items are at different warehouses they'll send you the available item cause they would've been sent in separate packages anyway, however if both your items were DVDs you'll most likely have to wait

Does anyone have any idea about why Free Super Saver Shipping is taking incredibly long all of a sudden? When I was living in Champaign for school, I could count on getting my items by Wednesday or Thursday of the week of release through UPS. Now, here in Highland Park, I'm waiting until Saturday or even Monday while the items slowly make their way through USPS. Is this simply because of the change in carrier (and if so can I state a preference even for free shipping?), or the bad weather in the East right now (my order of Arrested Development, The Fly, and Me, You, and Everyone we know seemed stranded in Philly for 3 days)? Just not looking forward to waiting for all the Batman discs when I have the day off on Friday and would love to watch.

The slowdown of super saver shipping happened right around the time their Prime program started. Coincidence....I think not.
Still can't complain much given it's free and I only order from them when I have GCs to use.

I pre ordered Batman in mid september and actually paid for shipping as I didn't want anything else as I was using a GC and didn't care about paying $3 or whatever, and mine hasn't shipped yet and is estimated to arive the 22-24.

Fuck that. I should've just let it come with my weekly DVDEmpire preorders which are always on my doorstep the following Monday. Two weeks waiting is not worth the $8. I'll have to pick it up on Tuesday at Best Buy now.

talk about crazy shipping, I placed an order when they were having that horror sale last week. I ordered 4 dvds. my order was broken into 2 shipments. 1 with 3 titles and 1 with 1. my shipping for both orders show shipping estimates of Oct. 25 even though everything is listed as "ships in 24hrs".

If I pull up the item right now, it STILL shows as "usually ships within 24 hours", but they are simply staring at my order, letting it sit there until the 18th, relegating me to a 2nd Class Customer status because I took them up on their free shipping.
That is an obnoxious way to do business, and their near-sighted approach will simply cause me to go back to my other sources.

Geez people, read Amazon's site.
The Free Super Saver Shipping page clearly states "Please note that your order will take an additional 3 to 5 days to ship." If you want it to ship quick, you need to pay or at least pre-order (I find that pre-orders ship very close to the release date if not before and for me usually arrive in 2 days with the Free shipping - granted that will vary based on your location).

Like I said, I have no problem with that. I have a problem with my Batman Begins preorder not being shipped until the 21-24 when I actually paid for shipping this time to get it faster.
So your p"ay or at least pre-order" theory is bunk, as I pre-ordered and paid. Their shipping is just a total crapshoot for everyone that's not a prime member. You never know how fast it's going to go our regardless of whether its in stock, a preorder or whether you pay or take free shipping.
That's why I only order from them when I have gc's to spend.

Ugh, I just went to cancel the amazon order and I can't since it says "shipping soon, item can't be changed or canceled". October 23rd as ship date is "shipping soon"?
Well, I learned my lesson.

Amazon's policy is obviously trying to nudge people into paying for what OTHER sites offer as a matter of good customer service.

I just can't figure out the deal on my order at all. all 4 titles are listed as "ships in 24hrs". I placed my order on Oct. 10th. all 4 titles are listed as shipping on Oct. 25th. this is way beyond their claim of
"Please note that your order will take an additional 3 to 5 days to ship."

OK, I'll have to take back my rant since I got a shipping confirmation on my Batman Begins order today (though it would've been nice to get out for release date). However I still doubt I will use their free shipping if they are going to give themselves the option of holding shipments a week before sending them out. It's the same reason I don't use DDD.

I decided to join Amazon Prime little over a month ago. I always get a shipping notice early on Sunday mornings. Always ships UPS and and I get them on Wednesday. I have atleast 1 pre-order a week so its $79/52 for Amazon's Prime. I have ordered other things without worrying about $25 min. Plus Amazon has been cheaper on pre-orders too. Well worth the $1.50 cost per week.

Guess I take my rant back, got mine today as well.
They just need to fix their estimated delivery methodology. Having the date in the e-mail the 24th when it came on the 19th is a bit to inaccurate.
