DDD search improved?

Forgive me if this has been covered, I don't remember ever seeing it mentioned.

DDD has improved their search function so that you can now easily narrow things down by format, genre, or year.

This is new, within the last month at least, right?

I think this just started yesterday or today after the site went down for a few hours.

Sweet. I just saw that this was mentioned in the "DDD site down" thread.

I'd delete this, but I figure more people will see the good news in the thread title.

Yes, it is in the other thread, but you're right. More people will see it here. The other good thing is that 10 results are listed per page, vs. the previous 5.

Another thing is that if you mis-spell a title, they give you the option to choose what you really meant to type.

So at least 3 very overdue changes. Thanks DDD! Searching used to be so painful there, it is still not perfect, but much improved.

I dunno, I couldn't find David Cronenberg's THE FLY last week on there (search by Name, Director and even just under "F") and ended up buying it at Amazon.com instead.

Then earlier this week I started seeing "THE FLY" banner ads from DDD.com.

Oh well.

DDD doesn´t stock titles from Palm Pictures, i also did a search on some of those titles, but no match.

That's not entirely true as they stock the first wave of the Directors Series from Palm Pictures: Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and Chris Cunningham.

So it is even more strange that they don't offer Vol. 2.

This is a long needed improvement, hopefully they also improved the speed issues. Last year during the sale they were getting hammered!

I emailed DDD about the Director's Label Series 2 box, and they emailed me back a couple days later stating that they do not stock it at this time, so I guess that's our definitive answer.

I went ahead and got it as a present earlier this week. Haven't delved into it too much, but it looks good from what I've seen.

Finally:

http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=PLM003123

DDD shows its heart and lists the box set, but it won't be sold until after the November 20%Off Sale. Nevertheless i'll buy it there.
