Thank Goodness for EB!

I had a really good expierence at EB today. I know the one in the mall near my house usually has some gems. Today, i picked up Videodrome Criterion, Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2-disc, Robocop Criterion, and This Is Spinal Tap Criterion which to my knowledge, is OOP, along with robocop. Some haul, eh? If you look carefully, you can find Criterions at EB. I have had much luck at Gamestop though.

Yeah, anytime I see more than a couple Criterions at a pawn shop or somewhere of the sort, I know that somebody got robbed. After all, who buys Schizopolis, Band of Outsiders, and Smiles of a Summer Night...then when they decide to move them, sells them to a retail outlet for $5 apiece?

On topic: I've never found a Criterion disc at a Gamestop or EB (though I've found a few other decent OOP items, like some Disney stuff and the Supergirl LE, etc). It seems like I'm always hearing about people doing well at Gamestop and EB...but the majority of my trips have been wasted ones.

Congrats on the finds.

The only Criterions I've ever found at places like this are Chasing Amy, Royal Tenebaums, The Rock, and now Life Aquatic.

I haven't found many used Criterions at EB. I think the only one I've ever picked up is Silence of the Lambs. However, I've gotten several the past few months at GameStop.

There's a handful of Criterions and potential Criterions (those that have multiple version) listed on their website, and you can actually check individual store stock. Every few days, I'll do a few searches for these titles and see if anything around has these in stock. If there are multiple versions, I'll call and check to see if it is the Criterion. I've gotten most of their listed ones this way (Seven Samurai, Hidden Fortress, Time Bandits, Sisters), and sometimes you find others that aren't listed on their online search at the same time.

Hope that helps some people out. Happy hunting!

Game Stop has been very good to me re: Criterions. I've purchased Silence of the Lambs, The Rock, Armageddon, Beastie Boys, The Vanishing, Hard Boiled, The Magic Flute, Eyes Without a Face, Robocop, Sisters, 8 1/2, Time Bandits, Schizopolis, and probably some others I'm forgetting from various Game Stops. Several of these were found in the 2 for 10 bin.

Question for those of you in the know....What kind of trade in deal does EB have for dvd's? Do they give you store credit or cash? I have never dealt with EB before on trades.

Take care all!!
