I received "Pulp Fiction" in the mail pretty damaged... Advice?
I had ordered the DVD from DDD a couple of weeks ago. I finally received it today and I was pretty upset to see that it got battered sometime during its trip here. The packaging (the mailer, not the DVD) was opened by customs too, but that happens pretty often, I know. By the way, customs didn't even reseal it; they reclosed it using a single RUBBER BAND.
It was pretty obvious once I looked at the box that the product inside was damaged. The mailer was bent. I just opened it a few minutes ago and the casing is pretty beat up. I open it and the plastic trays holding the discs to the cardboard case shattered.

What do you guys usually do in this situation? I've never had it happen to me before... I suppose I could contact DDD but it's not like it's their fault.

Damn, that is terrible! You can try contacting DDD and ask for a case replacement, it wouldn't hurt to try

I bought The Day After Tomorrow from them when it was first released. I received the DVD nearly three weeks later, and in horrible shape. There was a hole punched through the case, and most of the plastic of the case was shattered. The DVD itself was cracked, and the slipcover was shredded.
I contacted DDD, and they were more than happy to replace the DVD for me. DDD has always been one of, if not the best in customer service for me. Send them an email... they'll do you right.

Would they require me to return the damaged goods as well?

They replied back to me and asked if I wanted a reshipment or even a refund! They told me to just toss out the copy I have, and the discs are perfectly fine.
Man, they're awesome. They really go that extra mile for customers.
