Amazon.com's yo-yo prices

I swear every time I go to my cart on amazon.com, I see an item I have saved in there has either gone up in price or gone down in price. And usually if a price goes up, it soon goes back down again in price in the next day or so. But the worst was tonight with the DVD "Moog." I saw it went down in price in my cart when I added something in there and then I found something I was going to buy cheaper at the amazon.ca site, so I went back to my amazon.com cart a few minutes later, deleted that one item, and then my cart refreshed and the price had gone back up, just in the matter of a few minutes!

So what gives with this? Is this like their price testing they got in trouble with before? Do they really think that increases the likelihood I will order from them any time soon if I see they raise prices? And what is the point if they soon go back down? It's irritating, to say the least.

I am kind of wondering. Is this based on the cookies on my computer? Or just random price changes that are on the store no matter who logs on?

I doubt if this gets implemented it will just be done with cookies. Probably will require a person to login to get the "best" prices.
