Last time they sent out two DVDs in a custom box that was designed to fit 2 regular cases side by side. Very nice packaging.
If you have lots of DVDs in an order, they sent them out in a box and stuff the empty space with papers. Some times they pack so many DVDs in a box that there is hardly any empty space in it

The largest order I ever placed with DDD was 50+ titles, and it came all in one box. This was an order an old roommate and I put together because we had a 10% off coupon(!!). This was before the days of the 20% off sale, and DDD had accidentally cancelled one of my orders, and sent me this coupon for compensation. We ended up spending about $500 between the two of us, and opted for the free shipping. They shipped it UPS anyways (probably cheaper that way?).

I think anyone who orders above $300 (not sure what number exactly, maybe somewhere near there), or depending on the area it's going to, they're upgrading the shipping automatically (free) so they can put insurance on it, and for tracking (vs using delivery conf via USPS, which they don't even do for media mail)
Guess it's better for them incase it gets "lost" or someone claims it didn't arrive than using the postal service..
