SAMS Club TV on DVD selection
Anyone think local SAMS Club TV on DVD selection has started to stink over the last 6 months or so?
They have tons of newer shows like the Simpsons, Buffy, Friends, Law and Order etc.
But the older stuff has disappeared. Andy Griffith, Twilight Zone, Have Gun Will Travel, Gilligans Is etc.
I physically visit the store at least once a week and check local availability on the website several times a week so I dont believe I'm just missing them.
Maybe I'm just peeved because they dont cater to my interests anymore
I realize I can order these over the Internet but I desire instant gratification.

I spoke with the manager at my local Sam's Club about this, and here's the explaination I received:
Other than new releases, individual Sam's Clubs get in a specific number of DVDs and when they're sold out they're simply sold out. They have no way of reordering these "non-new release" dvds since they are part of a large, bulk purchases which are split up and then distributed to Sam's across the country.
He said that if a particular dvd set proves popular there is a good chance that it will reappear on the shelves around Christmas (when Sam's is once again able to puchase another bulk order of these sets and can redistribute them to the stores).
I'm guessing this manager's statement probably holds water because that would also explain why Sam's tends to have better prices on boxed sets than new releases (i.e.: the more they negotiate to purchase in one swoop, the less they pay and they less WE pay at the store).
