Site appears to be back up but account access still seems to be a problem. It took several attempts to get into my account to get tracking information for 2 orders.

I see Amazon's website problems even made the Monday news.
Amazon Recovers From Tech Slowdown
POSTED: 2:13 pm EST November 9, 2004
SEATTLE -- Amazon.com says things are running normally again on its Web site after a sometimes sluggish Monday.
A spokeswoman said the world's largest Internet retailer began experiencing "a slowness" Monday morning. That caused problems for some customers trying to access the Web site or buy items.
The problem was fixed by Monday night.
Amazon technicians weren't sure what had caused the slowdown, but the spokeswoman said the Seattle-based company typically wouldn't disclose that information anyway.
