Fry's Coming to Indianapolis
Our morning paper announced that Fry's Electronics will open a store in Fishers, IN, a northern suburb of Indy.
The store will go into a former Incredible Universe and later AutoNation location near I-69 and 96th St. The store will not open until 2005, however.
This is only the third store in the eastern US (Chicago & Atlanta areas are the others).
I've always looked forward to visiting Fry's on my visits to California.

As much as I detest Fry's (more from an operational standpoint...they are slimeballs in the San Jose Corporate Office) I'll be an interested party for the Indy Grand Opening. These stores are enormous and carry about 10x the SKUs a Best Buy would normally have. And that's probably a low estimate.
However, that location has been nothing but misery for every single tenant. I'd be surprised if Fry's is any different UNLESS they make it more accessible somehow.

Fry's Grand Opening is supposed to start on Friday, April 8.
Look for ads in the Indianapolis Star. I'll be curious to see what deals they will offer for first time customers. I was in the store Tuesday and their prices were similar to the competition, only there was considerably more selection in almost all departments.
