warning about Borders...

heres a little warning for anyone that might shop there.

during their buy 3 get 1 free sale i bought some DVDs from Borders b&M because i had a $75 gift card. i researched all the DVDs i wanted online at bordersstores.com to find DVDs which had prices comparable to places like Best Buy because obviously Borders usually has much higer prices in general.

well, i found DVDs i wanted, made out my list and went shopping. upon arrival in the DVD section, i was NOT met with the prices i expected. some were $2 more some were $4 more. i went to the title sleuth computer in the store and looked up all the titles i wanted and they were listed at the prices i had, not the prices on the sticker. i got a manager, informed him of the price difference and he adjusted all the prices for me. very good customer service, no problems or arguments.

the warning i have is that when you buy a DVD from Borders, especially if its an older title, ALWAYS look up the title on the computer in store to make sure the prices match. the DVDs will scan at the INCORRECT price. who knows how many people were overcharged during this sale.

same examples of the mispricing i encountered...

Austin Powers 1 and 2 were both labelled 14.99, they are supposed to be 10.99.
Oblong Box/Scream And Scream Again labelled 12.99, supposed to be 10.99.
Jeepers Creepers 1 - they had 2 copies of this, exactly the same, one labelled at 14.99 and one labelled at 10.99. the 10.99 labelled one was loose so i took the 14.99 one, it rang up at 14.99 and i had to get that re-adjusted too.

im sure there are many many others there so be careful.

My boss and my in-laws give me Borders cards for Xmas/birthday and I've noticed this situation almost every time I go in.

Good tip.

As mentioned in a thread by yours truly last year. Neither speedy or I work there anymore though.
