Thanks, DDD!

I've never placed an order with DDD until last week when I was lucky enough to get in under the 20% off craze.

I placed it on the 9th - invoiced on the 10th - and shipped the 11th (supposedly even when there were no normal PO activities operating due to the Reagan funeral).

Low and behold Simpsons S4 was sitting in my mailbox today, even with standard/media mail! Due to the sheer volume of orders I suspect took place last week, I am very impressed with their speed and service. They'll be getting my business in the future.

Although mine take longer to get to me, you cannot beat free shipping and great deals from this company.

How long does it take them to process orders? I placed mine on Friday and haven't received any emails and the website says OPEN for both of them.

That's fairly unpredictable with them. Sometimes they process the order almost immediately, sometimes it takes a few days. I suspect there are a number of factors involved. I've been ordering from them for a couple or three years now, and their performance in this regard can be all over the place.

That said, I don't shop there if I need something yesterday. If I'm in a hurry, I'll go to Amazon.com or Best Buy. But you can't beat DDD's prices. And even if it does take them awhile sometimes, you'll get your order.

I just received a shipping notice for my first order placed on June 18. So I would expect your order would ship soon if items were instock.

I have ordered from the about 6 or 7 times and typically it took 2 days to process and ship the order to my credit card billing address.
But the times that the order was too big for the apartment mailbox or I would be too lazy to spend my entire lunch for the post office, I woould have it shipped to my work address. Therefore, it took a day or two longer because they had to verify that it was a good address with the CC company (mastercard). Sort of secuirty.

Well, I checked my status online and the one order I placed with free shipping went out on Tuesday. However the order I really wanted and paid for expedited shipping still says OPEN and IN PROCESS. All the items were in stock when I placed the order That sucks.

They are a little slow. I find it odd that in 2004, you can't make an order and then look at it immediately...you have to wait 24 hours?

I call them Delayed Delivery DVD...everytime I order from them it takes forever for the goods to get to me. I rarely order from them anyway, their prices are about what I get DVD's for at work...I did drop a few bucks a few days ago for the %20 off sale, so we'll see how long it takes. I'm not holding my breath.

That is great...seeing as you live in the state in which DDD resides.

Ok, I have no idea what's going on. I can't get through on the phone and my emails have not been replied to. My order status says COMPLETE, but the item status says IN PROCESS? Plus my card has not been charged. WTF is going on? Has this stuff shipped? They were all in stock when placed and I even paid for Expedited shipping , but my other order with free shipping from the same day has went out and was charged. I take my shots when these 20% off deals come around since this is the only price point where the discount is worth the headaches, but I'm still scratching my head on this one.

That same thing happened to me matome. I called them up and they told me that everthing had shipped and was charged so no worries.

Great, thanks for the info MSD. Hopefully they'll take some of the cash they're making off these sales and upgrade their computer/CS services. Especially since they tell you to wait for email confirmations/status that never come around.

I'd never ordered from DDD before the 20% off sale because of their reputation of slow deliveries. But with the sale, I just had to put an order in.

I think the more items you put into your order at one time, the longer it takes for them to process it. I ordered 2 hitchcock boxsets and the one that wasn't on backorder shipped the next day. I haven't received the package yet, but if it arrives in a week or so, it's not DDD's fault--it's in the hands of the shipping company at that point.

So far, so good...looks like I'll be making regular purchases from them in the future.

Their reputation for slow delivery is well deserved.

Thumbs up for DDD!

I'd also like to say thanks to DDD.com for the sale! Very nice to save some extra money, and get free S&H too. Great company, IMO.

reb, when you put the discs in your shopping cart, sometimes (not all the time), there is a red note under each dvd that is not in stock within your cart.

I placed four orders during the sale and each one came quickly. Every one came two days after it was shipped (helps to live close to their Illinois facility). I got the 3rd and 4th orders today so I'm all done. Thanks, DDD.

movielib,

I ordered 21 dvds.

Order #1 (ordered 22nd)
2/3 shipped (1 backordered)

Order #2 (ordered 22nd)
0/13 shipped (5 backordered)

Order #3 (ordered 22nd)
0/2 shipped (2 backordered)

Order #4 (ordered 23rd)
1/2 shipped (2 listed as backordered, one was shipped next day)

Order #5 (ordered 25th)
0/1 shipped (1 backordered)

Weird that none of the 13 in my second order have shipped as eight of them were listed as "in stock"

Check your order confirmation emails. It should indicate the status of the DVD as either in-stock, pre-order, or backorder.

Well, I got my first order with free shipping yesterday which wasn't too bad. Of course, the order I paid for expedited shipping still isn't here.

Never pay for expedited shipping with DDD. Media mail is free and the longest I have waited for a delivery is 12 days.
