I only placed 2 different orders, but the last of the backordered stuff came a few days ago. Everything is great. I've never had a problem with anything I've ordered from them. Knock on wood.

I have to be honest, I voted "Pleased. All of my orders are not yet complete, but I am very confident that everything will turn out just fine." It took two (2) days shy of one (1) month for the final BO DVD to arrive, but I now have in my possesion all three (3) volumes of Fawlty Towers.

The 20% sale was my first transaction with DDD, I dont know if Ill be a regular, but if they have another 20% sale Im sure Ill order something.

I've had two backordered for a while now.
One finally just shipped, and the other still hasn't (ColdPlay dvd+cd) but I'm sure it will.

I'm in no rush, so I'm still very pleased with the whole transaction.

I had two items show as included in orders in which they actually weren't, another two items that had to be replaced because of damage during shipping (still waiting for the replacements), and I still have two items on backorder since 11/27, but overall I'm very pleased with DDD.

I received the last disc on Monday. I'd say about a third of what I ordered was out of stock when I placed the orders. Over the weeks I'd receive one here and one there. No real problems, other than the wait. The disc I received on Monday was a Christmas gift, so that kinda sucked, but otherwise, I am quite pleased.

I hope they offer that kind of deal every year!

I had almost exactly the same experience except that instead of my last disc, I got a cancellation notice yesterday stating that "Once Upon A Time in America" was no longer available. Overall, I'm very happy with the way it all went.
I ordered about 35 discs in all, so I'm satisfied with the great deal

Yesterday the last back-ordered straggler (Quiz Show) showed up. Five orders placed, a total of 39 titles (including Aliens Quadrilogy and 2 James Bond box sets, Queer As Folf Season 2) - all arrived in perfect condition, all my credit card charges were correct.

I'm happy...

I have received every title I ordered except for one that is backordered, so I am quite pleased. It is a limited edition title so no big deal if it gets canceled or if I eventually get it. No overcharges or damaged goods either..

this will be my one and only whine so bear with me.

Placed three orders between 11/28 and 12/6. Unfortunately all three had problems.

Order #1. Problems with the web site, order never went through, reordered over the phone, order cancelled, reordered again, still waiting for b/o item. Web order, three emails, three phone calls to CSR's, Debbie, Kim, Rosemary.

Order #2 12/5 - Web order, still waiting for all items. Multiple calls to CSR's Darryl, Janet, who said items shipped on 12/12. Hmmm. I seriously doubt it. 20 business days later, another phone call to CSR Matt who reordered the items 1/13.

Order #3 12/5 - a duplicate phone order. Janet said she'd hold it a day to see if the web order went through. Instead, both went through which would have been fine if I hadn't been charged for both. Also she did not apply the 20% coupon. I would have to pay full price or refuse/return shipment. DDD received their items back on Jan 4. and I'm waiting for a $77.00 credit which might take 10 business days.

In sum, I'm still waiting paitiently for items ordered 11/28, a second order shipped 12/12, and a credit for returned items from Jan 4.
--------------------
1/23 update:
Order #1 still waiting for B/O Saving Private Ryan from 11/28 -
Order #2 Success! New order rec'd 1/19. Thanks to Matt, CSR who reordered my lost order from 12/5.
Order #3 Finally rec'd $77 credit for 12/5 duplicate order returned Jan. 4.

Was it worth having $140 tied up for 45 days, three emails, four phone calls, a trip to the post office to return duplicate shipment, and waiting six weeks for the 20% order to arrive? For Order #2 I saved $15.40.
--------------------
1/28 update:
52 days after order placed, DDD sent an email regarding the b/o Saving Private Ryan (DTS):

"The order for the item(s) listed below has been canceled for one of the following reasons:
The order was canceled per your request.
This item has been discontinued..."
I certainly did not request the cancellation, so it's either their mistake or it's discontinued. At last, I am free to source this from another vendor!

OK, I recall reading at least several posts mentioning this problem, but I don't recall where I saw them... please let me know if you've had a similar experience:

As part of a huge order, I got the Beatles Anthology Boxset as a Christmas gift for my daughter. She has since discovered that the first disc won't play at all after Chapter 9 of the first episode (there were no scratches or smudges, but we cleaned it and tried it in three different players, all with the same result). So, I wrote to DDD returns so that I could exchange it. The response:

Thank you for contacting DeepDiscountDVD.com!

We apologize for the inconvenience, it appears the item actually has been discontinued and is no longer available. It may be returned for a refund if you'd like.
Again, thank you for writing DeepDiscountDVD.com. We appreciate your business.

I replied with a link to the product on their own website, indicating that they had it in stock and for sale. It's now been several days since my reply, and I've heard nothing back. I know I've seen posts where others claimed to have gotten the "sorry, but that title has been discontinued and is no longer available", but I don't know where. If any of you happen by this post, please let me know of your experience. If this is a standard response they're using for people trying to make exchanges, regardless of the actual truth of the matter, then it's clearly a suspect business practice. At the very least, one would hope they wouldn't lie to their customers, especially those of us who've spent hundreds and hundreds (even thousands?) of dollars at their store. I'll let you know how things go.

It's possible their website has outdated links. I'm not sure about your item, but last month, I was able to order Apollo 13 on their website several times, but the item never shipped b/c they said it has been discontinued.

If their email replies seem slow, you can give them a call and try to order one.

You can just return it for a credit and obtain a fresh one from another vendor.

hth, good luck!

I received this today regarding my defective Beatles Anthology boxset:

We apologize but the item should not be on our site any longer. It indeed has been discontinued and is no longer available. The item is being removed from our site now, thank you for pointing this out.

Again, thank you for writing DeepDiscountDVD.com. We appreciate your business.
However, I called a rep this morning, and was told that this title is not discontinued, but merely backordered. A quick check around the web seemed to confirm that this title is by no means out-of-print, so I find these assertions to the contrary to be more than a little curious.

According to the rep I spoke with this morning, a prepaid return slip will be mailed to me, and I am to return the defective product. I was told that additional "Beatles Anthology" sets were now on-order and one would be shipped to me as soon as you receive new stock.

I don't know who to believe!
