I ordered a DVD using the 20% off coupon over a week ago. Originally their web site stated my order would be shipped on the 8th. Now when I check it online, they don't even mention the shipping date anymore. I'm still waiting they will ship it before the end of this year.

I placed 3 large orders with the 20% coupon. 12 out of 15 discs from the first order have already arrived and I was charged the correct (partial) amount - the remaing three items are still backordered. So other than waiting for the backorders (which weren't shown as backordered when I placed the order), I've had no problems with this order.

I have a feeling the other 2 order are going to be trouble. I was charged the correct amount for both orders and received shipping notices that both orders shipped complete. Today I checked the order status page at DDD and the orders have been moved from the "open orders" section to the "Order History" (completed/shipped) section, which is normal. However, when I open the completed orders, all the items are still listed as either "in process" or "Backorder". Normally this wouldn't concern me, as it has happened before - the status of a particular item(s) sometimes doesn't change even after the complete order has been shipped.

What has me thinking I'm going to have trouble with these 2 orders is I checked my Credit Card online today and I've gotten several credits from DDD - all for the amounts of individual items in these 2 orders.

Did they partially ship the orders and charge me the full amount, and now they are crediting me for what didn't ship? - And if so, will the unshipped items still be placed on backorder? Or is it just a computer glitch, or something else altogether. - I quess I'll find out when the orders arrive, but I have a feeling it's going to be confusing and a hassle.

Roy

I must say I am fairly pleased.. Order #1 - 6 titles received, 1 backordered. Order #2 - 2 titles in shipment, 1 backordered. Order #3 - 2 titles in shipment, 1 backordered. That's good for me.

I finally voted and chose the second choice of being pleased with DDD. I received the bulk of three orders and now only have 3 DVDs on backorder (1 shipped). Everything appeared to arrive in good shape with the exception of one DVD that came loose. However it was only lightly scratched and don't think it will have any effect on playback. Also all charges to my credit card were correct and included the proper discounted price. I'm not anticipating any problems with the remaing portion of my orders.

Two of my 3 back ordered dvd items shipped today, only one left on back order.
I received yesterday one of my dvd sets from a previous order.
I have no complaints, plenty to watch til they arrive, and I got very good prices on items.
I think my last back ordered item will ship eventually.

I had a bunch that were backordered but now I have received 10 of the 11 items I ordered. With a little patience, I am very pleased.

I went with the 'not great' option. Placed an order on the 1st, 11 items, only one backordered. The in-stock items in that order came the end of last week. The other item in the first order is still backordered. Placed an order on the 3rd for 3 items, all of them showing as in-stock. Last week the order status changed to show all 3 of them as backordered with an expected ship date of 12/13. Well, nothing has changed since then and, as all the items I ordered from them were for Christmas gifts, I gave their cs a call this morning. I explained the situation to the woman and asked if perhaps the items had shipped without the website being updated. She informed me that they had not. I asked if there was any way they'd be here in time for Christmas and she literally laughed before saying something like 'oh, there's no way they'll be there that quickly.' It kind of pissed me off and I asked her if she thought it was reasonable to expect that items listed as in stock, ordered 3 weeks before the holiday would arrive in time to give as gifts. Her response, 'i can cancel your order and you can buy them somewhere else.' I ended up telling her not to cancel the order and will keep the sets for birthday presents (assuming they come at all), but am fairly irritated at having to do more xmas shopping when I thought I was finished. I'm also pretty annoyed with the cs rep's attitude. If they have another big sale, I might order a movie or two for myself, but I will not be doing any more gift shopping through their site.

Pleased. I'm still waiting for a couple of items to ship, but based on my previous experience with DDD's customer service I think I should be fine.

I'm hoping they do this more regularly, assuming they're happy with how the sale turned out on their end.

Recieved more than expected

I am super pleased with my DDD order. I ordered Alias Season 2 and they gave me Alien Quadrilogy instead. Alien Quadrilogy is worth more than Alias Season 2, so I am one happy camper. Now I just have to find a way to buy Alias Season 2 again. Hopefully I can find it cheap. Anyone else have something like this happen to them?

I'm still holding off on voting, as I've only received 8 items out of 41.

An additional 5 have shipped, but I haven't received them yet.

Nine items are in stock, but haven't shipped yet, though they've been "in process" for over two weeks.

The final 19 items are backordered and none have shipped yet. 15 items were backordered when I originally placed my orders.

Obviously, the prices were fantastic, so that helps balance out some of the negative, but everything else about the process has been lackluster. I can't believe that in stock items still haven't shipped after two weeks. I understand they've received a lot of orders, but that's absurd. I can't believe that a lot of other people are already having their backordered items shipped.

How long does it take a package to be shipped and arrived? I live in CA. I have an order that stated to be ship on 12/10 (originally stated to be on 12/5). Today is 12/19, and I have yet received anything. GRRRR...a big mistake for me to order even though i didn't save much. And I still have some on back order. If I knew it would take this long...probably longer, then I would have ordered it somewhere else. This is the worst X-mas EVER for me when I have to tell my family that I"m going to be late on gift. I wouldn't mind of the late shipping if it was for myself, but these are gift orders! Just because of this, this is my last time shopping at DDD. I hope they have a 50% off so that I can throw it back at their face!

Congratulation to all of the ones who received their orders this year. Some of us have been very unlucky with our orders at DDD. Keep in mind that it can happen to you one of these days during time when you expect to receive your orders in a timely manner. You got lucky that your X-mas is still joyful with gifts.

I also live in California and recently had two orders arrive after 11 and 8 days. So your order shipped on 12/10 should show up soon. But sometimes media mail can take up to 3 weeks or more. If you needed the DVDs faster you should have upgraded to a quicker shipping method like priority mail or purchased elsewhere.

So far, so good, but I have to reserve my vote. I placed two large orders - one $200, one $120, 99% of my DVDs have shipped, but my last shipment listed a DVD that was not in the box. Presently waiting to see how customer service handles it.

Previously, DDD has been very reliable over my 37 orders - and I never had to contact customer service until the last shipment!

Ordered a handful of items on Dec. 3 that were listed as out-of-stock, but they gave me a shipping date of Dec. 13. I called twice earlier this week, both times the CSR told me that my order would ship that day. Today, Dec. 20, I have not received an e-mail notification of shipment, nor has the status changed on the Web site. I called today at 4:35 Central time, 25 minutes before their posted closing hour. I was on hold listening to Muzak and the recorded message that a CSR will answer my call when available. Then, all of a sudden, at 5:05, half and hour later, I was transferred to another phone that rang and rang and rang, for a couple of minutes, until I got a recorded message that their offices are closed and please call back during business hours.

Now I'm going to have to tell several friends and family that their Christmas presents are going to be late.

I've never had a problem with DDD before, but now I'm pissed. I would be OK had those two CSRs not lied to me earlier this week. That made me angry. But the wasted 40 minutes today puts an end to my shopping with DDD.

I think that that is a key issue . . . expectations . . .

While a handful of DVD's that I ordered from DDD where intended for Christmas gifts, because I new that 1) they were going to come via Media Mail, 2) they were going to be shipped during the holiday shipping rush, 3) they could very well not come out of backorder in time, and 4) that there could be fulfillment delays due to the sale, I NEVER counted on them arriving in time and had a backup plan for the gifts before I even placed the order. While only four of the five "gift titles" that I ordered arrived in time, I am not upset about the fifth one becuase I never put myself in the position to depend on it arriving in time. If I need something by a certain time, then I buy it from a B&M or from an online store using expidited shipping. That is why "it" will never happen to me "one of these days during time when you expect to receive your orders in a timely manner".

Two things . . .

1) Do you really think that they lied to you, or that they just got it wrong? Personally, I think that there is a big difference . . .

2) Don't give up yet . . . several of my status' have not updated until that day after they had been shipped and (although I haven't experienced this personally), some people have said that they received their shipping notice emails late. It could be that your DVD might actually be on its way. Here's hoping!!

Awesome! I wish 20% would come around more. $300 worth of missed Criterions later makes me a very happy man! Can't wait for the Fassbinder collection to hit my door stoop.

Once again, thank you for ordering from DeepDiscountDVD.com

looks good? so far.....
then i never got any "confirmationorder number" email...
so, i checked my Order Status on DDD website... guess what?!
i DID NOT see this order

so today i called them up & try to find out what's happenning with my order

CSR told me that they didn't got my order (duh!)... & they could NOT honnor the order since the 20% discount already expired
PLUS they gave me a bunch of excusses about "you only allowed to use 1 coupon per account"

talked to the supervisor, she said the same thing...

so, for all of ya'll that got went through 5 or 4 codes, congratulation!

the thing that really bugs me is "i'm sorry sir... BUT WE CAN NOT HONNOR THE DISCOUNT"

i think i'm going to start shopping somewhere else.... after long years being their customer, it's time for me to move on to BETTER place....

the funny thing is, my 2 orders on the 12/4 & 12/6 went through both with 20% discount....

so pissed off right now
ok, just a little update...
apparently someone from the main corporate office read my message in this Forum (seriously) cause the next day i got an email with a direct link from DVDtalk from Mr. Rick Mejorado (CSR manager)
we worked on my problems.... i explained everything in complete details & with the best manner as i possible could

now, i got all my problem fixed thanks to this great man. he fixed all my problem, even placed me a new order with the 20% discount

now, i know i didn't ask his permission for this, but seems like allot of people also got into some bad experiences like i did, so i hope you guys can be 'gentle' enough in handling this problem...
this is Rick's email:
Rick Mejorado
Manager, Customer Service
DeepDiscountDVD.com
[email protected]

try to explain everything in details... & with your best manner too. remember, this guy is trying to help you (us, customers) happy... so, be friendly

hope it helps

i was dissaponted with DDD before (mainle because of their CSR), but because of this man, i can 'forgive & forget' the situation

i'm very satisfied with the way he handle the situation

Happy Holidays to all

PS: he also upgrade the shipping for me
