DDD Question
This is the first time that I purchased something from DDD, and it figures that the first item that I purchased is on backorder...
Is there anyway to find out if the item is in backorder from this site, before you purchase it?
If I knew that it was in backorder, I would have used the money to buy something else.
Its bad enough that they charge your CC for an item that is on backorder.....anyway
Thanks for any input.

Hmmm...I was not aware that DDD charged any CC until they actually shipped. Are you sure your CC was charged? As to knowing if on back-order - usually I have seen that on the screen where you place your actual order, unless it was something they thought they had but turned out to be out of stock after all.

Are you sure they have charged your card and it isn't just a temporary authorization charge to be sure your card is valid?
Anyway, when I've dealt with DDD, when I see a charge on my credit card, it means that they are preparing the DVD for shipment, I usually get an e-mail that it was shipped out a few days after the charge appears.

Most of the time, once you add an item to the shopping cart it will tell you if it is not in stock. But their online inventory isn't updated as often as other sites, so sometimes you won't know if it's out of stock until after you order. Also, they don't charge you until it ships.

I am sure that it is not the authorization charge on my credit card, that it is the actual charge.
The way that my CC does it, the authorization charge is just the amount of $$ that they want to charge, it doesnt tell you who it is from.
I received a charge and it tells me that it is from DDD. It posted last night.
Also, does DDD email you within 24 hours even if the item is OOS?
When I received the order email, I thought..."thats pretty good CS"
but I never received the confirmation email at all.

The way I see it is this: if there is a charge on your CC just ignore what the website says about your order status and just start watching for your movies in the mail. I have 2 orders from there that say they will ship in Feb. yet I already have them. And I never get emails from them about my orders. I think it's a Compuserve thing. I just figure that they only update the order status page once a week or something.
