BB raises Criterion prices...

Best Buy has raised most of the prices on their Criterion DVDs...

For example, most 24.99 titles went up to 27.99 or 29.99.

Some 29.99 titles went up to 34.99 or 37.99.

Most 39.99 titles didn't change, with the exception to Spartacus, which was 39.99 went up to 46.99. Maybe some others changed too, but I didn't see them.

Just a heads up.

Well, it looks like I won't be changing my routine of buying Criterion online. With the prince increase, there is even less incentive for me to shop at BB for Criterion DVDs now.

I think many of their prices went up; I was looking at the Disney tins, which were 29.99; now my store has them for 31.99. And some odd catalog titles for ridiculously high; Xanadu for 22.99.

Aside from Chasing Amy and Royal Tenenbaums, I don't think I've ever seen a Criterion at Best Buy.

FYI: DVDPlanet.com sells all Criterions at 35% off, so check it out.

Does this have anything to do with the 10% off "regularly" priced CDs and DVDs coupons that I just received?

I certainly hope this does not become a trend.

Yes, 34.99 is the price for The Rock.

My Best Buy sells many Criterions, from In The Mood For Love to Last Temptation of Christ. Usually there's only one though, which may be why you missed it?

Either way, it sucks.
