Just got off the phone with Disney. They are not honoring any orders off of the HOLIDAY coupon, saying that you have mail in the physical coupon in order to redeem it. They suck and should be somehow sanctioned for their own incompetence.

This is going to make a lot of people very unhappy, even if you have "the card"
what about the people who ordered and threw away there card?

There is a fairly standard way that generic coupon codes like this work, whether at amazon.com or digitaleyes.net (with their new coupon) or wherever. If the coupon is accepted, then it's valid. If the coupon is not (you've already used it, etc.), then it's not valid.
Any company that puts out a code like this and basically says, "Oh, this will work for you and your friends over and over again, but don't tell anyone, and please don't use it more than once" is naive and foolish and needs to learn that coupons don't work that way. That's why they take coupons from you at the grocery store or write void over them once they're used.
This is not a morality issue. This is an issue of Disney not programming their site *or* training their CSRs properly (as people were able to use the code over the phone as well) and then trying to cover themselves by making this into a rebate instead of a coupon.
Not only is the whole coupon -> rebate switch incredible, but it will end up penalizing all the people who had the card in the first place and threw it away after placing the order because they didn't need it anymore. Once I had the receipt (saved webpage) showing my final price, I thought I was done. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't remember seeing anything on the card that said that it needed to be saved and mailed in.
I would be okay if they said that there was a fluke in their system allowing the coupon to count more than once for the same account and only one order per person would be fulfilled. At least then they would be admitting their own blame in this sitaution and being somewhat responsible for the consequences of their lack of foresight.

God damn it. I hate these damn threads. There is nothing wrong with placing more than order - but you have got to know that people are gettting more and more hesitant to post deals here because people use them for financial gain, not for "love" of movies or DVD, which I thought this forum was based on.
As for arguing you don't know the terms of the coupon - that isn't an excuse. Ignorance is not bliss, you cannot claim ignorance of the promotion details allows you to get an order. I placed 1 order for Lilo and Stitch. I hope Disney honors it, but from the sounds that people were raping this dead corpse of a deal, I doubt it.

Also, this deal was posted everywhere, not just here. On another website, I saw where people tried to use it to order Gift Cards--not just once, but over and over. Stuff like that is probably what really killed the deal.

Has it ever ocurred to anyone that the person and/or persons who posted the information without including the little detail about mailing the "holiday" card in caused the problem? Why is everbody so quick to blame Disney (everybody was lovin' them last week with their $10 sale!) for incomplete information posted here and on other forums?

Don't sweat it. As others have said they can't charge more to your card than in the final receipt.
I don't understand why people feel they are entitled to these deals. They are retail operations who can accept or reject business from anyone they want. I don't blame them for not wanting to honor this.
You'ld think they'ld know better at this point. Oh well...

My "tracking" also says at the wherehouse. I guess time will tell. Too bad though, I really liked A Bug's Life for 6.44.

I just went ahead and cancelled my order. After reading some of the posts, I realized that the coupon wasn't intended for the public but for some people who apparently spent a sum of money and then had to submit the paperwork via the mail. Since I didn't do that, I decided that it wasn't right for me to keep my order. Plus, I didn't want to have to go through any hassles of having a non refundable fee for shipping and handling.

you win some you lose some.
No biggie.
I will wait it out and see. If they ship it great if not no problem at all. I might think twice on buying a dvd from disney in the future especially the .com part.

all of my orders show as active and in the distribution ceter, and my c.c.'s (I used 4 different for each order) show not charged but pending, for the right amount.
Not sure what to think so far, maybe good, maybe a fight.

If they had emailed me, asking me to approve the transaction at the new fee prior to shipment, that would've been forgiveable. This isn't.
Trust is a very important part of online shopping, and they've lost any trust I had for them. This from a company that used to be considered a model of good customer service.

If you do not have a screen shot of the correct prices you ordered at, or thru away your e-mails, then here is how to get a screen shot of your order numbers with the discounted prices.
First go to DisneyStore.com and log in, use the name you registered with.
Next hit the view account button NOT the order tracking button.
This will take you to the screen that shows list all orders on the left and search for order by date.
Hit the top submit button on the right.
This screen will show all of your orders with the order number, when you placed the order, and the discounted price on each.
Screen capture or print page.
Hope this helps!!
