Brilliant Marketing Deduction from Circuit City

From Friday's USA Today:

DVD is now sounding the death knell for VHS. Circuit City in June became the first major retailer to announce the phase-out of pre-recorded videotapes in stores. "We started noticing that people coming into our stores were buying DVD movies, not VHS, so it made sense," spokesman Jim Babb says.

So that's what the marketing managers at CC get paid for! I want that job!

Now if only someone at my employer thought like they do! We still have tons of videotapes on a wall/and some racks that do not move at all(Thank You DVD for helping with this). I was hoping to get rid of all the VHS before I leave but I do not think it will happen. Oh well I can always call the re-order person and she will keep me updated I hope.

That would explain why their Customer Service sucks and they never have new releases in stock.
