Buying a Samsung portable DVD, so should I buy Best Buy PSP?

item will be an $800 something purchase, seems worth buying some extra protection. BUT - should I skip it - just anticipating the run-around I will get if something requires servicing or replacement from BB?

My experience with all Samsung products I have owned (TV & VCR) has been marginal at best. Of course, they are usually the cheapest so I guess you get what you pay for. I had to have both the TV and VCR repaired (back in the days when VCR's cost $200) . I haven't bought any Samsung products lately so maybe their quality has improved. I would first make sure you want to spend that much money on a Samsung product. If you decide to, then definitely get the service plan.

If you're going to spend that much, why not just get a laptop computer? It'll cost a little bit more but have so many more options.

If you are considering the PSP, be sure to READ it first. Regardless of what the salesguy tells you, the written contract has so many exclusions that it's hardly worth it. Especially a portable like that, Best Buy can blame almost any problem on abuse and wouldn't cover it.
