Any Experiences with DigitalEyes.net ?

Hey All,

I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences with the store DigitalEyes.net.

They are the only U.S. store I've found so far that is carrying the Canadian Brotherhood of the Wolf S.E. and I was interested in pre-ordering that with them.

(I'm hesitant to order from a Canadian retailer as it seems my USPS delivery has been a bit flakely lately.)

I've never used Digital Eyes before. Ther're website seems quite professional, but I was hoping I could get some opinions here first.

Thanks in advance,
obispo21

Digital Eyes is a very reputable business. I've ordered from them a few times with no problems, and I've never heard of anyone having problems with them.

I've sold a couple DVD's to digitaleyes and it was a painless process. I just used my credits for a preorder and I'm not anticipating any problems. I'll let you know.

Great service, great prices. Used discs are always near perfect. Free standard shipping for 2 or more dvds. Best all-around online dvd retailer IMO.

There is a representative from Digital Eyes answering all questions in this thread:

He is also working on offering a coupon exclusive for DVDTalk members. There are two current coupons for $5 off of $50-IAMNEW for new members, and GIVEMEFIVE for all customers. They also offer free shipping with the purchase of two or more DVDs.

I did have one more question about Digital Eyes for Mark or anyone else who is in the know.

I'm a bit worried about ordering from Digital Eyes since they only offer USPS Delivery. (No UPS or FedEx.)

Though I've never had problems with USPS in the 6+ years I've been frequenting e-tailers, in this last month I have been having some rather disturbing problems in that I've had 1 DVD from Best Buy.com, and at least 1 (starting to look like 2) DVDs from Deep Discount DVD get "lost" or stolen in the mail. All 3 were shipped USPS Standard.

My question is what is Digital Eyes policy on "lost" shipments. Is the customer "S.O.L" if that happens or does Digital Eyes assume responsibility and re-ship?

We do also offer Airborne Express which is guaranteed, but we have had far more problems with them than any other shipper including the USPS.

Our general policy is to replace a missing package. If we find an address problematic, we typically insure further shipments to that address.

Almost all of our media mail packages go out with Delivery Confirmation which does seem to help. The problem with Media Mail is that delivery time does seem to vary wildly. In most cases we see 5-7 days, but we have seen a couple weeks to in some EXTREME cases a month or more. We have only had 1 or 2 packages come up missing in the last several months so I am very confident in the postal service.

I had ordered the movie "Son of the Bride" on September 3 or so, it was to be released on September 10. The status is now listed as "On order with manufacturer".

When do you expect to get this movie from the manufacturer?

Also, what is your shipping policy on pre-orders? That is, do you normally ship them out a few days early on the assumption that the mail will take a few days to reach the person, or do you wait until the release date?

I have placed a few orders with Digital Eyes. In general all has gone well. The only problem has been an occasional late shipment. I got a shipping notice today for a 8/27 release. Still over all when their price is competetive I go with them.

We normally ship titles on Friday for delivery by streetdate. As far as Son of the Bride, we should have it in stock tomorrow. It is a Columbia title and we have had trouble getting in some of their titles on time due to their new "distribution strategy".

We have switched distributors for this studio and will be getting those titles out on time from here on out.

I've ordered three times from DigitalEyes. Amount of order ranges from around $20 to $160. No problem at all in all three orders. Order to shipping time is usually within a few days.

Just FYI I received my order today and everything was in great condition. They even included a bag of microwave popcorn which I think is really cool. I'll be ordering from them again very soon.

You made the above post on Sept. 14, as of today (Sept. 26) you have to order three items to get free shipping.

I know that it did used to be two items, I had placed an order in early September and got free shipping for buying two DVDs. Per www.digitaleyes.net:
Free Shipping*
Now receive free shipping on any order of 3 items or more that are shipped via Media Mail. The only catch is you MUST select the Hold Until Complete checkbox at checkout. Shipping for a 1 or 2 items shipped via Media Mail is only $1.50.

Unfortunately, we had to tweak the Media rates. Not a huge increase, but was needed so we could continue to offer a low cost option.

I just ordered from digitaleyes for the first time on 9/25, they shipped it 9/26, and I received it today, 9/30. I'm very happy with the service, and I would buy from them again. Also, the free Air-Head was a nice surprise.

How long should I expect it to take for a payment via Paypal when you sell DVDs?

I used the quotemachine at DigitalEyes, and sold several DVDs. My shipment to them was signed for last Monday (9/23). It has now been over a week. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
David

We normally turn them around in a day or two. Yours was held for review due to us receiving several titles in your quote that we have received too many of in the last several days.

I am sorry for the delay, but your quote has been processed.

Thanks,

Yes it has been processed. Only about 1/2 hour after I posted here. Wow. Thanks very much.

Another happy customer.
