Best Buy return policy?

I just bought the Ken Burns Civil War at BEst Buy by price matching with the Target flyer. It came out to just under $70 with the 110% price match. My parents didnt know I bought it and they also went to Best Buy and price matched with Target. Obviously I dont want two copies. I threw my receipt away, so when I go to return it, will they end up giving me the full Best Buy price in store credit, or will they give it to me for a lesser store credit? Thanks.

You probably won't get any credit at all for a $70 DVD set w/ no receipt.

Is it open?

If you paid with a check or credit card they can look up your receipt, or if you paid cash and know the exact date of purchase they can find your receipt as well (although they probably won't want to go through the hassle of finding a cash transaction and will say they can't).

It is totally unopen and still has all the best buy stickers on it. I did pay cash for it.

I'm hoping to just get store credit if i return it without a receipt.

Welcome to the Best Buy casino! Without a receipt, you may or may not get a refund/credit.

It all depends on the manager/customer service person working the desk. If it doesn't work, try taking to another Best Buy!

I've had some returns (yes, even with the BB price sticker) and they wouldn't take it without a receipt. I once told them it was a gift and they asked to go to the person who gave me the item and ASK for the receipt.

What you need for a return without a receipt is a lot of luck!

SOME Best Buy stores may take your return without a receipt (it all depends on the store and there ain't many that do nowsaday). Even if they do, they would give you the lowest price in the form of store credits. I heard that you are allowed to return without receipt only three times (per year or lifetime?) and they track that using your drivers license.

Re: Re: Best Buy return policy?

Tell you parents to take their copy back or have them use their receipt to return yours.

Sounds like his cashier have it to him for $79.99(target price) - 10% of the best buy price of $99.99. Should have been $79.99- $2.00, or 10% of the difference in price. Great deal.

I was told the other way round. You get 110% of the difference back if you PM within 30 days of your purchase (their registers are preprogrammed for the 110%). If BB lowers the price through sales or otherwise within 30 days of your purchase, you get the lower price (no 110%).

ALWAYS save your Best Buy receipts longer than you think you'll need them.

If your item has the BB sticker you can wait until the 30-day-after-Christmas return fest. No receipt required for store credit.
