DDD back to normal?

Just wondering. Haven't seen any new complaints lately.

My 2 preorders were charged on 8/31. Called DDD and after waiting for 20 minutes, CSR said it was shipped 8/30.

So we'll see. Usually I get something between 1 and 2 weeks.

In my experience, they are NOT back to normal yet. I'm still having orders get lost (i.e. -- I checkout and get the "you will receive e-mail in 24 hours" message... but the e-mail never arrives and the order never shows up in my order history).

Pretty frustrating when you place a large order and don't know if it went through or not...

Other online retailers give you an order # right after placing the order (so at least you have something to reference when calling customer service). I have no clue why DDD can't also do this simple thing.

No, I just checked my Order Status for an order placed on 6/24 and I got it yesterday. While it is listed in the Completed part the Status is still Pre-Order and total charged is still 0.00. Never did receive any email after making this order or when it shipped.

I'm still waiting for one disc out of a 6 disc order (placed in mid July) that shows as backordered. I got the other 5 in two different shipments within 3 weeks of the original order.
I think maybe people got scared off when the previous thread got to be more than 5 pages long and just quit posting.

Yup. My order showed completed too. Although the other part shows pre-ordered and estimated shipping 9/3. And total charged 0.00 too.

DDD has been doing me right, even while do others wrong. I have a question, though, will DDD price match DVD.com?

Update: Got my DVDs today from DDD! About 1 week wait.
Got Ernest Goes to Camp. It's 2:35:1 and Puppet Masters, same ratio.

I got my final disc last night too. I would hesitate to declare them "back to normal" but things seem to be going a little more smoothly.

Nope. They sent me labels for a duplicate shipment that I would have gladly sent back but it never arrived. Also, was checking my credit card online tonight and it looks like I was billed twice for my Friday the 13th shipments. Will have to give them a call about that one.

If this stuff keeps up I'll just have to go back to Best Buy.

I've been getting my orders delivered, but my order history still shows everything as backordered even though I've received everything except of one preorder.
I've also noticed that I don't get shipping notices on preorders, only on titles that are in-stock.

I have 2 preorders (Amadeus and Grease) and one backorder (Zulu). Though the hold appeared on my account for Zulu, I don't think it was shipped so all of my order statuses seem to be correct.

Things seem normal to me. Things seemed stabilized, so I tried a big order to take advantage of a coupon they sent me during the 'time of troubles.' So far, it's been perfect:

*Order acknowledged
*Shipping notice sent out
*all dates correct for shipping and when expected to ship
*stuff on hand shipped fast

All these were problematic before, and are fine now. And the site runs fast enough (still wish it had DVDempire's flexibility.)

I don't have a problem with the site or the order status, but out of 7 orders in the past 2 months, not one email ever.

Finally got up the nerve to try them again.

Placed an order on 9/16 for 2 in-stock items, choosing shipment by Priority Mail. Got a receipt of order e-mail, an order confirmation e-mail, and an e-mail today, 9/18, that my 2 items had shipped by Priority.

My on-site order status properly shows no open orders, and shows this new order as completed and shipped.
