eCampus.com experiences?

A friend of mine ordered the Gumby boxset from eCampus.com last week and received an email stating that they don't carry the item themselves but will work to obtain it from a distributor. Has anyone ordered from them in the past? How's their service? They had the best price on this set according to DVDPriceSearch.

I ordered Lawrence of Arabia SE (or LE, whatever) and Picnic at Hanging Rock CC and took advantage of their "free shipping over $40" deal. I received the titles within a week in perfect condition. All told, a pretty good experience for me.

RevLiver -- I've had the same experience as your friend for both of my orders. Both orders were listed as "ships in 2-3 days". Both of them have still not shipped almost a month later.

So far, I'm not impressed. This seems to be another one of those annoying e-tailers that lists a huge selection of DVDs, but has ZERO inventory and doesn't bother to keep its distributor inventory updated on the web site.

I had the same exact experience. There are so many pathetic sites like this out there...

I used ecampus.com to buy a textbook about a year and a half ago. I had no problems at that time. They had the best price for the book, and IIRC, I received it within just a few days after ordering.

I didn't even know they sold DVDs! It sounds like an e-tailer to avoid now-- at least for things other than textbooks.

well, i ordered a text book a few months back, and it said 2-3 days. i called back periodically, and they kept saying "it was comming". finally, i just cancelled my order after 1 month cuz i needed a book for class.

another time, i bought the jack ryan set for $24.xx. it took about a month to ship, even though it said 24-48 hrs.

my experience - don't buy from them if you need stuff right away.

Update - Gumby shipped

My friend received a shipping notification for her Gumby boxset about a week after placing the order. I'll post again when she actually receives it.

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll stay clear of this store.

I ordered a book for Christmas and had no problem. But I kept getting ads from them despite several requests to be removed from their list.

I got the Jack Ryan set from them at their misprice (it must have been at $24).

After much complaining, the set was finally shipped to me.

I got it, the price was good, I'm happy.

I don't think I'd buy from them again unless it was a great deal though.
