Orderbox or Playcentric?

Can anyone explain to me what orderbox is? I know you get some sort of 100$ dollar credit, but where does that 100$ come from, and what are details on using it? Is orderbox a better deal than Playcentric? I know I can get a couple of good deals at playcentric, but held off b/c of what some of you have said about them, and you never receiving your order. Are they really that bad? I'm covering a couple of topics here at once, but any help on orderbox or playcentric would be appreciated.

i'm very satisfied with orderbox. i ordered 8 dvds and have recieved all the shipped ones as of yesterday.

forget that 100 dollar credit it really means nothing now, i didn't even fully inderstand what it meant either.

to make orderbox simple to understand, you get 25%* off the lowest price you can find from a site that supports orderbox. i got total recall on the day of release for 14$ and some small change.

now though, i don't know how much of a deal orderbox is, shipping has increased from 1 cent to 88 cents and some people who have signed up recently are not getting 25% off. i'm sure orderbox still has good deals , esp if you consistenly buy alot of dvds, however the earlier better deal of 1 cent shipping and full 25% off has spoiled me. i will enjoy my 8 dvds and bail. i won't buy enough to make paying the monthly fee worth it.

Very true. This is how I feel as well. For three orders and 5 DVDs they have been very good (I've received 4 DVDs anyway. We'll see about the Simpsons). I will also be canceling my account next week.

However, I have also heard that playcentric is pitiful. I have stayed away simply because of words from fellow DVDTalkers condemning them. If you can get another 10-15% off DDD prices or another low price with $.89 shipping, it won't be so bad. You may want to consider it over playcentric, which has only caused heartaches for people in the forum, even if the price is slightly higher.

Orderbox takes money right out from under DVD Talk. We rely on our affiliate revenue and advertising to be able to run DVD Talk.

Can't you get Orderbox to advertise on your site? You'd think this would be perfect for them!?!?

What's the difference? Orderbox can't likely afford to pay DVDTalk any royalties for having a link here, and if we use the link, we can't use Geoff's links so we can't support DVDTalk. I think Geoff is understandably unhappy with many of us migrating to Orderbox. I doubt it will last forever though, especially when the 25% off ends and the monthly and yearly fees do not.
