How safe is our personal info on DVD order sites? Please advise.
This morning I was looking at upcoming releases on Deepdiscountdvd and noticed the salutation in the upper corner said HELLO FRED. I am not fred. I looked at the info and there was the persons address, phone number etc. This was on my home computer to which no one has access to. Does this happen often, is it safe, what is stopping someone from ordering stuff and shipping to a post office box?
I called DDD and they didnt seem concerned at all.
Please advise.

Well, DeepDiscountDVD is weird in that way. If someone links directly to an item, that link also contains their personal information. Even coming from DVDPriceSearch, somebody else's personal information was in there. DDD is the only site that i know of like that....your info is pretty safe at other sites. And as long as you don't post links to individual DVDs at DDD, you're fine.

Some Follow Up
It appears that people at these Etailers read the boards. I was contacted by someone from DDD who wanted to know the details and assured me that they take these matters seriously. I guess I was remiss in my duties by not asking to speak with management directly. In any rate they seemed concerned, and checked into the matter.
