Has anyone got this anniversary email from amazon?

I rec'd an email from amazon (that has been deleted) basically congratulating my for my one year anniversay. Then it read that if I purchased another item during the month, they would send me a coupon for either $5 or $10.

I never rec'd a coupon after placing an order, and when I called them about it, they said they don't send emails like that. Has anyone else ever rec'd this email, or am I remembering it wrong?

Here is the e-mail sent out, hope this helps you

Dear Amazon.com Customer,

What's an Amazoniversary? One year ago this month, you placed your
very first order (using this e-mail address) with Amazon.com, and
we'd like to say thanks. Spend $50 this month, and we'll send you a
$10 promotional certificate good toward another purchase next month.

http://www.amazon.com/july-amazoniversary2/

You can use your certificate toward anything in our retail store:
a bestselling book, a new DVD release, a CD player--it's up to you.
Just place an order (or multiple orders) totaling $50 or more by
July 31, and an extra $10 is yours to spend however you like.

Happy Amazoniversary, and we hope you enjoy many more to come!

Sincerely,

David Risher
Senior VP and Amazon Customer of Five Years (and Counting)
Amazon.com

The fine print:

Qualifying orders must be placed at http://www.amazon.com toward the
purchase of products sold by Amazon.com and listed in Amazon.com's
online catalog. Orders placed at Amazon.co.uk, Amazon.de, Amazon.fr,
Amazon.co.jp, Amazon Marketplace, Auctions, zShops, or any other Web
site operated by Amazon.com, its affiliates, or third-party merchants
accessible from our site (including, for example, our Health & Beauty
store operated by drugstore.com) will not count toward the promotion.

To qualify, you must place orders totaling $50 or more (excluding
shipping charges and tax) using the Amazon.com account to which this
message was sent. The total may be reached with one single order of
$50 or more, or with several smaller orders that together total $50
or more. Qualifying orders must be placed by 11:59 p.m. PDT on July
31, 2001. Please note that if a qualifying order is canceled or
returned, the promotional certificate will no longer be valid.

Limit one promotional certificate per qualifying customer.

Promotional certificates will be delivered via e-mail to qualifying
accounts approximately one to two weeks after your anniversary month
ends on July 31, 2001.

Promotional certificates must be redeemed during the month following
your anniversary month and will expire at 11:59 p.m. PDT on August
31, 2001.

Unbelievable. Now, they are denying sending out the "amazoniversary" emails. Amazon appears to be going downhill quickly. I am having a similar problem where they simply overcharged my credit card for a purchase and are now going to great lengths not to cancel the order or refund the overcharge. Their excuse is that their policies prohibited them from giving me the discount that was on my confirmation receipt and email.
