I have a Complaint about Dell!

I recently ordered a Nikon Coolpix 775 digital camera at Dell Accessories Store. The camera is on backorder and thats fine. Today I had to call to change my credit card number, a simple enough task one would think. First I call the number that is provided in my Dell Confirmation email. I wait for about 25 minutes before a rep picks up the phone. He tells me he doesn't know how to do that and says I have to call another number. He transfers me and again I wait for 45 minutes. Finally a rep picks up, and I get the same result, have to call another number. She transfers me again. This time I wait another 30 minutes. I get a guy who seems like he can help me, after placing me on hold several times, he says that I placed a DellWare order and have to call yet another number. Again I get transferred and wait another 25 minutes. A rep finally picks up and is able to help me change the credit card number. After he changes the number I tell him that after all the trouble I went through, waiting on the phone for a total of 2 hours, just to change a credit card, I deserve to be compensated in some way. He then tells me that he won't do that, that I'm already getting a good price on the camera and if I want I can cancel the order and buy the camera elsewhere. I don't think that this is an appropriate response. I bought a Dell system several months ago and now I placed another order for the camera. At least he could have done was been nice, not nasty and uncaring. Apparently Dell doesn't feel that my time is worth anything. I am so frustrated. I sent them an email to [email protected] complaing about this, but I really doubt that it will do anything. I also called again to ask where I can complain and I was given an address to send a letter to the corporate office. Does anyone have any input? What would you do in a situation like this?

I think I would buy the camera elsewhere and cancel the order. But it will probably take you another two hours on the phone to cancel it.

I actually went to planet feedback and sent them a complaint. It might be totally useless, but at least I vented some of my anger.

gee, i recently got a dig camera from dell and the transaction was smooth, thankfully i didn't have to contact them(they don't want to piss me off, our company buys lots of dell stuff). i was seriously considering buying one of their laptops to replace my current one but once loaded, they aren't such a deal anymore even with the "freebies".

I've had two ordering experiences with Dell, both nightmares.

The first time I bought an expensive desktop system. When I got it the sound didn't work. I spent 4-5 hours a day for 3-4 days trying to fix it. I finally called them and told them unless they sent me a new system I wanted to return the system for a full refund. I finally got the replacement and the sound of windows starting never sounded so beautiful.

The 2nd time I bought a lap top where the modem didn't work. Again spent 4-5 hours for several days trying to fix it, was mailed a replacement modem that didn't work etc. I called to return it and they offered me $400 to keep it and to keep working on it. I was thinking about it until she said it would mean taking the entire thing apart and putting it back together. So i returned the POS. I did get the $100 rebate that i mailed in while i had the computer though. Haha
