Is was going to purchase CTHD as the buy.com deal of the day and was confronted with a shipping charge of $5.05. Additionally, any DVD I add to my cart shows an additional $3.25 not the $1.95 listed on their shipping rate page. don't know if this is a new shipping charge or an error, but it seriously degrades their already increasing prices.

The $3.25 charge was an error, it was for a VHS not a DVD. Sorry for the confusion, however, the S/H charge on the deal of the day DVD does show $5.05 (mking this post more appropriate for the bargains forum than the store forum (SORRY).
