Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock would totally be up for ‘Speed 3’ (msn.com)

Great news for fans of “Speed.”
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock, who starred in the 1994 hit movie, joined a conversation on the podcast “50 MPH” and addressed a possible third film in the franchise.
“I mean, you know — we’d freakin’ knock it out of the park,” Reeves said.
Bullock agreed, adding when it comes to their onscreen chemistry, “There’s no formula. It just is.”“Before I die, before I leave this planet, I do think that Keanu and I need to do something in front of the camera,” she said. “Are we, you know, in wheelchairs or with walkers? Maybe. Are we on little scooters at Disneyland?” The pair starred in “Speed” as Officer Jack Traven and Annie Porter on a bus that will explode if it falls beneath a certain speed. Bullock shared that she “wasn’t the first choice” when it came to playing Annie in the romantic action film. "I wasn’t the second choice. I don’t think I was the third choice,” she said. “But I was a choice, and I was so excited and happy to be there. Some of the best moments of my life .”She also starred in 1997’s “Speed 2: Cruise Control,” opposite Jason Patric as Reeves did not appear in the sequel. Reeves and Bullock did reunite to act together in the 2006 romantic fantasy film “The Lake House.”

That’s an awful lot of speculation based on a couple actors giving a playful answer in an interview but sure, I’d been down for Speed 3 of Keanu came back.

The first one wasn’t without its problems. The “We don’t know how to ends this movie” ending, particularly sticks out. But it’s infinitely better than the slog that is Speed 2.

It's nothing but speculation.

Let's speculate on the speculation and take guesses on the "vehicle" in a theoretical third film. I say private space flight is really the only option.

Got to explain how Annie and Jack are still single in the 60s and then somehow meet again after 30+ years

I'd expect this to happen right after the revelation that Keanu has been burning piles of money in is backyard over the past several years.

Even Fast and Furious has been to space at this point. It's hard to find new ground to tread. Actually, they could merge the Speed movies into the F&F universe.

Speed 3 may happen . . . but how quickly?

Speed 2 is my favorite bad movie. Great soundtrack too.

On my last cruise, they had daily trivia and one of the questions was: “what was the name of the cruise ship in Speed 2?” They said nobody has ever answered the question correctly. I answered correctly - love Speed 2

I think the obvious choice would be a bullet train. I know there was that recent Brad Pitt movie, I can’t recall the exact title. I think it was called, “The Train that Couldn’t Slow Down”.

Yes! Give us Speed 3...and wipe out Speed 2 from being the ending of the franchise. I'm not saying to ignore it, but just don't address it all that much. No Alex Shaw, maybe just a mention of why he and Annie broke up and move on. I'm not sure of what new premise they could try, as trains were done in the first film and in Under Siege 2, while Passenger 57 did planes, though another take on it might work. I would love for them to course correct this franchise after a bad second movie.

^ They really wouldn’t even have to mention her relationship in Speed 2. It was almost 30 years ago. Not much of a need to talk about an ex-boyfriend from the 90s. She could have had a dozen other relationships since then. Just make Annie single. No need to over explain why.

Serendipity brings Jack and Annie together again and go from there.

Set it in San Francisco with self-driving Waymos

What will be the plot? An airplane that can't go lower than sixty feet above ground level or it will explode?

Die Hard 2?

So, are both actors past 60?
This will be as exciting as watching over 60-year-old Indiana Jones and his wife in action scenes.

Never watched any of the John Wick or the last few Mission: Impossible movies, eh?

It’s been awhile since I’ve watched Speed but I also don’t recall a ton of physical action from Keanu, and especially Bullock, in the movie. I think Keanu jumps from the car to the bus at the beginning and there was a little rolling around in the top of the subway train at the end but the rest was just standing on the bus and pointing guns yelling “pop quiz!”

Though to be honest, Keanu looks like he’s in pain just running around in the John Wick movies.
