Wiki says this is 6 episodes instead of the usual 8.

First episode was great. The show’s craftsmanship is perfect. I hope the story satisfies.

Some interesting reveals here. Not sure if anyone is 100% trustworthy that's on the case, but I'm sure the motives will be revealed soon. I have a feeling dad cop (Hank) is going to have some important connections to all this.

The show is pretty good. Jodie Foster’s character, Liz is a bit too much of a hard ass for me at times. Seems like almost no one likes her or that she has a problem with a lot of people.

The storyline is fairly intriguing though and I’m curious to see more of the case unfold. Also like the atmosphere with the small town setting and being in Alaska in constant darkness.

Jodie getting boned on top of that dresser almost gave me The Accused vibes on the pinball machine...

I listened to a podcast interview with the show's writer/director Issa Lopez. She talked about how she brought the script to Jodie for a meeting and Jodie said she loved it, but it wasn't for her. Lopez had written Danvers as a woman perpetually on the verge of a breakdown, and Jodie didn't feel that was a part she could play. Lopez asked her how she would change the script for the Danvers character and Jodie gave a bunch of suggestions to make Liz more disliked by others - just saying whatever came out of her mouth and saying racist things that she didn'trealize were racist. Lopez asked her "So you want me to make Liz an asshole?" and Jodie laughed and said "Yeah, I would love that".
That's at about the 45 minute mark of this episode.

Keeping it in line with the first season. Martin and Rust were both unlikable; Martin was an asshole and Rust was weird and creepy.

Loving the show, but it’s wild that at any given moment I have no fucking idea what time it is there 😂😂

I've seen movies set in these "long night" locations but never a serialized show. I've just never noticed how much I rely on day and night progression in a show to keep the story straight. Here I'm like "oh it's late, oh no wait high school classes are happening".

My wife and I did an Alaskan vacation where I remember we were eating at like 11PM and the sun was still up but never the other way. What a weird town that must be.

You never know if anyone is being an asshole, showing up unannounced in the middle of the night -- or is it the middle of the day? Is it a late-night booty call or an afternoon delight? I love being so disoriented. But yeah, I'd hate it in real life,

When she was on the phone with the tattoo place, my brain was just like, "Oh, tattoo places are probably open late," completely forgetting it could be 10am there for all I knew.

Yeah in agreement with everyone on the "day or night" thing. Really messes with you.

NOW let's speed this up a bit.

This is cool but nobody can remember this shit because S1 was like 9 years ago. Hell, I can't remember S3 of The Boys let alone anything from TD S1 aside from that 25 minute long, 1-shot of the biker gang shootout.
