Additional info from when news broke about the prequel and season 2 last year:
I hear other Carr characters who have or have not appeared yet on The Terminal List, an adaptation of his 2018 novel, will be featured in the prequel, including Pratt’s Navy SEAL James Reece and Raife Hastings, a former SEAL pal of Reece’s whose potential arrival was set up in Season 1 of the mothership series.
...
The prequel is described an elevated espionage thriller that follows Ben’s (Kitsch) journey from Navy SEAL to CIA paramilitary operator, exploring the true darker side of warfare and the human cost that comes with it.

I have read all of the Terminal List books - just finished the newest one "Only the Dead" and was thinking that I hope we get to see Raife in the TV series, so that should be fun.

Looks fun and badass, but it kind of sucks knowing Kitsch’s characters fate and his heel turn.

Have you seen his movie career?! He can do plenty wrong.
He’s one of those big up-and-coming actors that was poised to make it huge and then chose shit project after shit project until he stopped getting leading roles.
I will say, I think he’s found a pretty good niche for himself playing co-star in action/military movies.

Not really interested in a prequel with that character. I wish they would just continue following the books

I've watched the first two. They're pretty good. I liked the second ep better than the first.
Took me a minute to realize the big guy, Raife, is played by the same actor who was Luther in The Umbrella Academy.

Just finished it. I enjoyed this way more than the Chris Pratt version. Probably because this was more action oriented and had a good cast. Seems like they are setting up S2 if they got Pablo Schreiber in a small part at the end.

Good ending to the season, with an opening for more. Excellent action sequences. I'd watch another season.

Yeah, Pablo really does well with these types of roles to be just a cameo like that. And Kitsch has found his niche with this, too. I think it's just that Pratt doesn't fit well in these as the others do. I hope there's a way to involve more of Hopper too if there's another season.

I finished watching it yesterday. I enjoyed it for the most part because I was enoying the action and twists. But had to try to turn off my brain for some of it Things I didn't like:

Like I said Taylor Kitsch can't do no wrong. This was a really good sequel with strong action sequences. Taylor Kitsch is a fantastic lead in this and he's kind of a Tim Riggins character. He's a likeable fuck up, who's actually really good in his job, when he puts his mind to it.
I had to smile at the end in "Virginia" when Robert Wisdom's car had a German environmental plaque on his wind shield.
