According to Patton Oswalt, Eternals 2 is a go with Zhao returning to direct.

I mean.. it certainly has potential now that all the exposition is out of the way? I never thought the first film was a bad movie, just terribly long because it had a lot to explain.

I'll be honest, while I did enjoy Eternals when I first saw it last Fall in the theater, I have not revisited again since. Did not buy it on physical media or digital and have not rewatched it on Disney +. It's just not the kind of movie that has good replay value IMO.

Maybe I'll revisit it at some point, but there's just way too many new things to watch. As for Oswait, I'm not sure what to make of it. Studio has not officially announced it and it's not currently in phase 5 or 6. phase 5 appears tp be fully booked, so this movie may not happen for at least 3 years.

Eternals looked nice, for the most part. I didn't enjoy it much though, even on a repeat viewing. It's probably at the bottom of my list. I will watch any Marvel movie at least once, but the chances of me doing it in a theater is next to none.

This is one of those "I'll believe it when the cameras are rolling" things. If we get more Eternals at all, I feel it will be because they show up in another character's movie.

This reminds me that I stopped watching the first movie at 35 minutes (?) and never got around to finishing it. Oops.

I found it watchable up until the third act, where it fell apart completely.

Marvel seems to be losing touch with what made the MCU great to start with. Compelling characters and story. These characters could have been interesting, but they were predictable cliches in a meandering, ultimately pointless story.

That's just this movie, IMHO. Multiverse of Madness was serviceable enough, and I really liked Shang Chi precisely for its characters, until they decided it needed a 20-minute dragon battle.

It seemed obvious to me the Eternals would show up again in some multi character movie. Probably the Avengers. There is no need for another stand alone. If the purpose of Eternals was to introduce Sersi and tease future Black Knight, who both become Avengers, that's been accomplished.

Those are the exact reason why WandaVision might be my favorite MCU thing ever. It’s more character focused then plot focused.

They need to hurry up, so they can just try to sell the toys again that are collecting dust at stores.

I think Shang-Chi has surprisingly been the best of the pandemic Marvel movies so far. It didn’t hurt that Ben Kingsley was great in it hamming it up.

I'll roll with Spider-man being my favorite of the Marvel pandemic flicks but, really, I've liked them all.
