Two inmates (Miles Teller & Jurnee Smollett) form a connection while grappling with their pasts in a state-of-the-art penitentiary run by a brilliant visionary (Chris Hemsworth) who experiments on his subjects with mind-altering drugs. Directed by Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick, Tron: Legacy). Based on The New Yorker short story, “Escape From Spiderhead,” by George Saunders.

Looks like all the sets from Assassin’s Creed. I dunno, looks interesting I guess. I’ll add it to my list of stuff to watch if I get Netflix again.

Kosinski has a great eye for visuals. If nothing else, I expect this to LOOK fantastic.
Based on the trailer I can’t tell if it’s a thriller and they’re just playing up the comedic elements or if it’s something else.

The choice of music brought back memories of the ending of "US". I could easily see this one as something Jordan Peele would have made.

There were some good ideas here that didn’t quite get explored as well as they should have. I thought things fell apart I’m the 3rd act.
It definitely feels like the “small” picture Kosinski chose to do after a much more ambitious Top Gun.
Chris Hemsworth was fun to watch in this though. His slightly-unhinged-under-the-surface scientist makes the movie worth a watch.

It was ok but not great though admire Hemsworth for trying to broaden his range and play a bad guy.
I don't get the appeal of Miles Teller.
Maybe he is a relatable everyman presence in movies or girls love him but not really a good actor.
Some of the music was ok though the Hall and Oates song was unnecessary.
