Based on the true story of one of the most notorious crimes in FBI history, this gritty crime-thriller stars Emilia Clarke ("Game of Thrones") as Susan Smith, a young woman desperate to escape a seedy life of crime and drugs in Kentucky coal mining town. When a newly minted FBI agent named Mark Putnam (Jack Huston, "Fargo") recruits Susan as his informant for a high-profile case, she believes her bad luck may finally be changing. But as Susan and Putnam's relationship deepens, so does the danger, setting them both on a collision course with deadly consequences.

This was shot 5 years ago and was released this month. Reviews are garbage.

I've seen trailers for this and it looks like one of those 90's direct to video thrillers.
I'm surprised Lionsgate held onto this so long and didn't release it at the height of GOT and Clarke's popularity. You'll probably find this dumped on Amazon Prime by the Fall.
and what has happened to Phillip Noyce? Most of his recent output has been TV and low budget stuff like this? He was an up and coming director in the late 90s,especially after doing the Jack Ryan movies.

The Saint happened.
He did Salt and The Giver most recently. I thought Salt was ok and The Giver, too.

I read an interview with Phillip Noyce where he said he stopped making good films because he was tired of people using the pun "noyce work" when telling him they liked his film.

Yeah, I had seen it. It was... okay. Average at best. Clarke I thought was great, though.

Just saw this via a cheap Redbox rental. It was very average. Clarke gets beaten to a pulp three times in this movie and is eventually violently murdered. Strangely she’s also the narrator of this movie. This is based on a true story apparently. They showed in the end credits what happened to the real counterparts. It tries to be quirky, which didn’t work. I thought Clarke was alright. Nothing special about her performance playing a white trash ex druggie. The movie was like one of those A woman scorned adultery TV movies. Except nobody comes away with a good ending.

Clarke was ok going outside of her usual role but the movie was mediocre and unpleasant.
