Re: Christopher Plummer dead at 91

Thanks for pinch hitting on All the money in the world.

He had a really good run. One of his last acting jobs was the Canadian show Departure. He shot 2 seasons of it. The first season is on Peacock. And of course he was great in Knives Out. The fact that he was still a working actor into his 90s is an amazing accomplishment.

Well, it's done. It's happened. The stars are clear. The planets shine. We've won. Oh. Some darkforce, no doubt, will show it's face once more. The wheel will always turn; but for now it's calm. And for a little time, at least, we can rest.
RIP Christopher Plummer

RIP, General Chang. Parting is such sweet sorrow. Have we not heard the chimes at midnight?

What a legend, might have to watch Beginners again tonight. So glad he won the Oscar for this performance and it didn’t feel like a lifetime achievement award.

Another great actor that I grew up watching so many of his movies is gone. He was so good in Michael Mann's The Insider where he plays 60 Minutes host Mike Wallace.
I was surprised that he wasn't even nominated.

2021 really is starting out shitty.

Plummer was always good. He seemed to finally start really getting his due toward the end of his career, but I think he was one of those actors who made it look so easy for so long that he was often taken for granted.

I just watched The Undiscovered Country a couple days ago, after not having seen it in years. RIP to a great actor.

First Hal Holbrook and now Christopher Plummer. Two great actors in one week.

I saw this two nights ago and never did it cross my mind that he was going to die later this week

RIP and he still did great and memorable work in his later years.

Hollywood lost a legend today.

I saw this and even though it did not get great reviews he was great in it as usual

I wasn’t familiar with a lot of his work. In fact hand the seen The Sound of Music until after watching The Undiscovered Country; so to me he’ll always be associated with Star Trek.

One of his lesser known but still memorable performances was as the sadistic villain in The Silent Partner

What a class act. And one of the last greats from his generation. Very sad day.

Re: Christopher Plummer dead at 91

Sadly his cause of death was from a head injury after a fall.

Re: Christopher Plummer dead at 91

In a business that usually ages people into lesser onscreen roles, he was doing top notch work right into his 90's. Good for him.

In the span of a year Sean Connery, Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Clint Eastwood and Christopher Plummer all turned 90. We've lost 2 of them now. Hopefully the rest have Kirk Douglas longevity!

An absolute classic, and nearly as good was Bob Clark's tremendously atmospheric Murder by Decree, in which Plummer played Sherlock Holmes and the great James Mason played Watson. Jeremy Brett may have a lock on "Best Holmes Interpretation", but Plummer did a stellar job of it too.

Thank you for the recomendation. I watched The Silent Partner yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. I also watched "Remember" which was pretty strong and "The Last Full Measure" which had to much pathos for my taste, but I liked Plummer's supporting role.
