Deb never wore those pants at all this Season. Biggest disappointment IMO.

I predict Dexter kills Saxon at the police station and then they have Dexter trying to escape by his boat in the hurricane only to get sucked into it. I've never seen a worse final season of a show when they knew it was going to be the final season. The Office comes close I guess.

Roseanne

The final season of Roseanne is probably the worst season of any TV show ever. There was one episode called Roseambo where she was acting like Rambo fighting against terrorists. I fucking kid you not. Then the finale episode reveals that the entire fucking season was basically just a dream, and that the series had actually ended with the previous season.

Dexter may have a bad final season, but its a fucking masterpiece compared to Roseanne's final season.

The finale actually invalidated the entire series, not just the final season. The big reveal at the end was that she was just making the whole thing up... Dan was dead, Jackie was a lesbian, Darla was with Mark, Becky was with David, etc.

I read somewhere that the reason it ended that way was to make it impossible for a spin-off to be made.

Any way you slice it, though, the final season was terrible, and the ending was a slap in the face to viewers.

Don't know if any of that needs to be spoilered... it happened over ten years ago and anyone who hasn't seen it should be warned, so I'm leaving it there.

Re: Dexter -- Series Finale -- "Remember the Monsters?" -- 9/22/13

I have a bad feeling. I mean, the season got off to a really good start, but this killer just doesn't have a good feel to it, lots of people don't like Hannah, Debra quickly recovered hating Dexter, we haven't gotten too much side stories with the other people in the police department, and I guess I understand why Dexter isn't the same person as when it started out, but really, with Hannah having killed people, you would think they would be a killer couple. It kind of leaves a person empty thinking about how Dexter has changed. And he really doesn't need to die now that he has changed, but the fans probably miss the old Dexter and had he stayed true to his character, even if he died, the fans would respect that because at the end of the day, he IS a killer and murderer.

As for worst last season, hats off to Roseanne. That last season was just so bad and having Dan not there for a good majority sucked. John Goodman really helped the show. I think they mentioned that Dan died during the wedding. I did like the little plot twist at the end, though, which was kind of funny looking back at it and how the entire show was made. Another awful series final was Secret Life of An American Teenager. The series was already losing all hope, but the last season could have been much better. And if you haven't watched it but would like to, stop reading this. Some of the plot tie ups were just awful like Jack and Grace breaking up in a random chat then Grace dancing to some stupid music. I'm fine with Ricky, Jack, and Amy ending like that because I could sense that, even though others were pissed. However, Adrian getting her happy ending was trash proving that being a bitch gets you the best life. And no idea what happened to Amy's sister.

Anyways, my expectations on this aren't high, though I would love for this to end in a bang.

Jesus... Weeds was ten times worse in its final season than Dexter, which has been disappointing... but still is probably better than most other things out there... I think the amazingness of BB's last season running concurrently has only served to disappoint those who also watch Dexter that much more.

Re: Dexter -- Series Finale -- "Remember the Monsters?" -- 9/22/13

In his AMA on Reddit Clyde Phillips did say that the series finale was satisfying so I have a bit of hope for it. Overall though definitely been a bad sendoff year for the series. I think this season has overall really tarnished the legacy of the show. It wasn't great after season four but was somewhat watchable but this season has just not been very good at all. I still need to watch last week's episode but will probably just watch the final two back to back.

Yeah, Roseanne was definitely a weird ending. I wasn't the biggest fan of the show or anything but had watched it every now and again and when I learned that the finale basically made it so the rest of the series is pretty much made up in her head it was kind of a WTF moment.

Re: Dexter -- Series Finale -- "Remember the Monsters?" -- 9/22/13

The Brain Surgeon kills Masuka's daughter. Masuka goes ballistic and kills the brain surgeon. He's caught in an incoherent rage and the Miami Metro blames him for all the Bay Harbor Butcher killings since he could tamper with the blood evidence. Dexter, Hannah and Harrison sail off into the sunset where a twister from the hurricane picks up their boat and sets it down in Argentina! Lem hooks up with Jamie, Deb winds up with Quinn and everyone except Masuka has a happy ending. Masuka spends his days in jail watching porn on the computer and feared by the other inmates (since he's such a badass).

Perfect ending for a perfect last season.

Wow, never watched the final season of Roseanne. That's crazy. I still think this season of Dexter has to be the biggest wasted opportunity though. I really can't fathom how this group of writers came up with this as a final season. The end of last season set it up and they still screwed it up.

Yeah, after 10 minutes of watching the last episode, I'm thinking "there is still 40 minutes of this shit remaining"? I'm watching this one only because I don't think they can make an episode any shittier than the last week's one. To be fair, I've been saying that for the past few weeks and yet they've somehow managed to create episodes that underwhelm my miniscule expectations.

So what's been the best part of the season? Got to say, Masuka daughter's tits and seeing Jamie nude has been pretty nice. And Deb going sexy crazy has been a plus. Otherwise, kind of a waste.

Yeah overall it's been pretty shitty. There was some decent acting from Jennifer Carpenter at first with how her character reacted to killing LaGuerta and some of the early stuff with Vogel and her role in creating the code with Harrry could have provided some interesting backstory for Dexter. The problem this season is they had stuff from last season to build on that they didn't follow through on and started more stories this season that are essentially going nowhere too. So the season has been just kind of a waste really.

I was so hoping they were going to pull it off and have a solid ending. That sucked balls.
