With all the talk lately about going to the movies (or not) I wanted to ask everyone where is their favorite spot in the theatre.
My wife and I like to sit towards the back (quick entry, quick getaway!), but where do you guys like to sit in the theatre? Inquiring minds want to know.

Around the middle. Though at the muvico I'll usually sit about 3/4's of the way to the top as there's a section where there's a wide aisle and no seats in front of you so you have tons of leg room. Kind of the divider between the lower and uppser sections of stadium seationg.

Anywhere between 7^th to 10^th row, center.

Usually try to grab the center area in the farther back rows. That way I'm looking dead on and won't have a crink in my neck.

Dead center, about halfway down, right behind the disabled seating. That way I have a center view, and if I need to use the washroom, I can hop over the rails and not step on anyone's toes or knock anything over.

NEVER in the front. ill walk out if thats all thats left. i prefer near the back in the middle of the row.

I try to get there as early as i can so i can get a seat in the dead center of the theater.

Screen at eye level, a bit off center for easy access to the aisle.

The exact epicenter. Perfect place to fill (but not overfill) your vision with the screen, and to pick up the most precise audio effects of multi-channel sound imaging.

Best seat at the cinema?

about as far from the screen as it is wide, and dead center.

Somewhere in the middle, 3/4's of the way back.

~1 to 1.5 screen width from the front which is usually near the middle of a decent theater.

About a third of the way from the screen, center seat. If I sit too far back, it just feels like I'm watching a big screen TV. If I sit too close, then I find I'm panning my head back and forth to catch the action.

2/3 back from the screen in the center if possible. If only the first 1/3 seats are available, we leave.

Always the last row. If possible, which it usually is because I'm early 99% of the time, right under the projector window dead center. I have no interest in any other row.

Years ago, I always tried to find a seat in the middle row and center seat. Nowadays, I don't really care for seat positioning and usually find a seat on the edge of a row, and towards the rear. I still will not tolerate a seat in front, however.

I usually hit the very last showing on weekends or Mon.-Wed. afternoons, so I get the whole place to myself (and can watch it in peace).

I prefer the 2nd or 3rd to last row, center. That's always felt like perfect eye level for me.

I like the center like most red blooded americans. I wont sit in the sides or upfront at most theaters. Then again at the arclight there isn't a bad seat in the house.

2nd or 3rd row center. The theater I go to doesn't have seats until about 20 or 30 ft from the screen so the front row isn't a big deal. I hate having people sit in front of me.

Are we talking regular theater or porn theater?

Seriously, I like middle rows best too.

Of all the rude things people do in theaters (kicking, cell phones, talking, etc) the one that bothers me the most is having my chair kicked. All of the theaters I go to have "rocking" chairs, so kicking and even grabbing my seat to help themselves up REALLY annoys me as I am jerked backwards or thumped forward during what I may consider an important part of the film...thus taking me right out of the movie.

So..I'll let a lil surround usage (rear channels go over my head but still reverberate while the sides still fire towards me) go for the 'convenience" of not having my seat kicked/grabbed/pulled back/etc.

AT our theaters there are seats in the front row, far left or right, that are IMPOSSIBLE to see anything from. We actually went and tried them out one time when we were the only people in the theater. Your line of site is practically a 5 degree angle from the screen. I'm not sure why they even put seats there, as you'd surely have to get a refund if those were the only seats left.
