Who's picking up Star Wars Battlefront?

Release date is Sept 21st I believe.

I've been keeping an eye on this title for awhile and I'm starting to get really excited about it. I was a huge BF1942 fan and I'm itching to get back into that type of game. It looks like the vehicle and character list is pretty sizable which is a big plus.

I wasn't sure I was going to get it but the so-so Fable reviews have pushed it to the top of the September list. I've watched the IGN video preview and checked out some other info and it looks pretty tight.

And you can play as a Droideka! That right there is reason enough for me to get the game.

Who's with me?

I'll be picking it up as well for the Xbox. I wanna drive an AT-AT and stomp on people.

I'll pick it up for Xbox, but may have to wait for a good sale to get it.

Fable only has two reviews out there. It got a 9.1 from TeamXbox, and a 9.3 from IGN. How is that "so so"? Especially considering that the only review for Battlefront is a 8.0 from PSM (PS2 version).

Anyway, back on topic. Depending on word-of-mouth, I'll probably pick up the PC version of this down the line.

I've played it at E3 and comic con and I love it. Battlefield 1942 meets star wars. the simple fact that you can kill ewoks sold me.

A++++ will play again.

I'm a SW geek, and an FPS freak, so I'm there. I vow to actually play the first time in TK armor.

I plan to get the Xbox version. I'll be in San Francisco the week of the release. I wonder if they'll have any cool events at the Sony Metreon?

I preordered the Xbox version so I could get the figure and I'm cancelling my order after that. I have no use for online games.

"So-so" was a bad choice of words. For me personally, I was expecting a much longer quest than what it apparently is.

I haven't found a good Live game that I enjoy playing with random people, so that's another reason I'm looking forward to SW:Battlefront.

Star Wars is too often used to sell mediocre games, I will wait until the reviews come in before I even consider this title. I learned my lesson from SWG. Plus I am not that big of a Star Wars fan, who is droideka by the way?

The latest PSM gave the PS2 version an 8. Here's a quote from the review:

"Star Wars fan or not, Battlefront does a laudable job of first creating a fine mass-scale shooter, and then integrating it seamlessly in the Star Wars universe."

If I get it, I will get it on PC...more players online than the Xbox or PS2 version can play at one time. That's reason enough to pick the PC version in my mind.

I love these things.

After watching the video preview on IGN, I'm even more excited about the game. It looks like a Star Wars version of BF1942, which is exactly what I'm looking for.

This game is also made by "hot developer of the moment" Pandemic Studios, who did Full Spectrum Warrior and has Mercenaries (also LucasArts produced) and Destroy All Humans! in the pipe.

So, uh, did anyone answer the question as to where you get the free fig by preordering? Only specialty shops, or BB/CC too? version?

I was considering getting this on the XBOX, but after playing Rainbow Six 3, I've kinda been turned off to online gaming. I've met nobody but immature kids and racists (not to mention the guys who play the game 24 hours a day, and think they are God).

I'm gonna wait for the reviews before I buy. I'm just looking for a game to play a couple hours a week, not become my 2nd job.
