f.y.e weekly New Releases pricing (often with MIR) and more deals

I have resigned with TWEC and no longer will be updating this thread. Hope you found it helpful.

HOW TO SUBMIT YOUR REBATE

**keep in mind the new choice program, once a rebate has been submitted successfully you can take a gift card for an extra $3 instead!!! wicked sweet deal imo**

1. remember one rebate slip per envelope, if more than one title appears on the receipt you are fine as that counts as one submission

2. print neatly on the slip, do NOT stick an address sticker to the forum, do NOT use a PO box as the return address

3. print mailing address on envelope exactly as it appears on the slip, include all the numbers and such.

4. use the yellow "our price" sticker, it is FINE, trust me, if you are rejected this has NOTHING to do with it. you may also cut the UPC off the box, or sometimes it may have a sticker over the original. IN ALL CASES make sure the UPC number (12 digits) matches the one on the reciept.

5. PHOTOCOPY EVERYTHING, this will protect you in the case of an error at the rebate house.

6. Staple the reciept marked "rebate reciept" to both the rebate forum, and the UPC symbol (I like to use bright post it paper so that it jumps out at them) Remember these people hand open these things, and often times things fall out, if stapled you insure they are all together.

7. be patient, if you have done all that I suggest you will be fine. i don't bother to track this on the web but you may, I personally like the surprise of $7 bucks finding the way into my mail on occasion.

------------

Does this work in-stores? Or are the price the same?

Sorry if this is in another thread.

hi, was there a thread before this one dedicated to FYE mail-in rebates? i'm trying to look for it, but can't seem to locate it. specifically, i'm interested in the rebates (if any) for recently released titles within the last month or two. thanks!

Get 25% more for store credit when selling/trading used in.

Is that just a generic promotion going on currently or certain conditions apply?

I think that's standard. Of all the times I've been there they usually give 25% more if you opt store credit over cash.

I could be wrong though.

They did not get any Robocops at my FYE location although I didn't think they would. Just a FYI for those interested.

Only thing right now is the exclusive 2 Disc Version of Vacancy, nothing else I'm aware of.

Blades of Glory will come with a iron-on patch next week.

Posters are (were) available for Flash Gordon

I did have an old thread, however the rebate information was only left up for the 2 weeks while they are valid.

Typically most of the new release titles have some rebate associated with them from $5 to $10 though most commonly instore they are $7.

Thanks! It seems like perhaps you work at a FYE.

Would you like to volunteer to be our weekly source of exclusives there?

Indeed, well I work at a Coconuts and will be glad to post any and all things we get as GWPs and exclusives (same stuff as fye gets). I try to when it's something worth it, but often it's just silly!

Thanks! But I'm afraid we like silly too. Some of us ocd completists have been trying to track every store exclusive for the last few years. We do a pretty good job, but have long needed a TWEC insider to help us keep things totally complete.

Some FYE related questions if anyone can answer... (Sorry if this doesn't belong here)

1) If FYE has a DVD set for X price online will it be the same price in store? Heroes (HD-DVD) is $69.99 online and I'm wondering if their B&M stores will reflect the same price

2) How is the budget shipping via FYE.com? I'm trying to decide whether the Heroes set online or in-store. There is a 10% off coupon I am thinking of using online.

Budget shipping is usually just a bubble wrap mailer thats insides are completely adhesive (so the case sticks to it) and the area that you open the mailer goes straight through the middle of the dvd (most retarted mailers ever).

Not sure what they do for bigger orders or boxsets, i usually only order 1-2 dvds at a time and ive always gotten the crappy mailers.

Thanks for the help guys.

I guess I'll keep my hopes up that FYE will have Heroes (HD-DVD) at least a little cheaper than $99 next week. I put down a pre-order there recently since I had around $50 in credit to use.

Hi, db27.

Can you help us out over at the anime bargins thread? We need some more information mentioned in Bezerker's post about a sale that's going on pertaining to some anime titles:

http://forum.dvdtalk.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=121

Anything you can find out would help a lot. Thanks.

They had a bonus disc for 300, but it likely is no longer available... YMMV
