Thanks.

From: currently Philly originally from Puerto Rico
since we are at it. Would you price match 'The Holy Girl' with Amazon which currently has it for 13.97 rather than the 20.99 DDD has it for. Thanks.

All the seasons are Buffy are a bit steep compared to Amazon. $29.27 at DDD and $19.99 at Amazon.

Anything you could do?

The season box sets have the hologram on the cover of the box. The single volumes don't have a hologram on the cover. The pricing should be correct now. If you still have the incorrect price please remove them from your cart and add them back.

As always we're constantly making adjustments and I'm having someone make the match all of the prices where appropriate in this thread and the others.

Thanks again for all of your business.

Dave

Dave,

What about people who ordered Boomerang in the B2G1F fox sale awhile ago. I ordered Boomerang, House of Strangers and I Wake Up Screaming. I emailed CS last week and early morning June 9th I received the following response. Maybe I'am just impatient but my Order Status on your web site still has all three titles listed as BACKORDER and it just sits there. I have made several orders with 20% off code and they seem to ship right away:

As per our records items
DVD : I WAKE UP SCREAMING
DVD : HOUSE OF STRANGERS
is available in stock now. Please be assured that the items will be shipped shortly.

Item DVD : BOOMERANG has been discontinued and is no longer available. You have not been charged for this item.

We hope this information is helpful to you and look forward in serving you again.

I was in the same situation. I emailed early last week, no response by Friday so I just called and was told by Customer Service that the 2 available titles would ship out this week for $9.99. $9.99 has been charged to my account and I received a shipping email for the 2 movies.

Then, today, I finally received a response to my last week's email:
"Thank you for contacting DeepDiscountDVD.com!
All of your items have shipped except for Boomerang. This item should ship out shortly. Thank you for your patience and cooperation."

So, is Boomerang now going to be released after all? Or is DDD customer service via email a little less informed than customer service via phone? I know they sure take a lot longer for a response.

As you know, Boomerang is still on hold and we do not have any indication that it will be released.

We delayed contacting everyone at first in hopes of a quick resolution, but that does not appear to be forthcoming. We will be contacting everyone shortly who ordered the title during the Fox Buy 2 Get 1 Free promotion to offer them another selection from the list.

I do apologize for the confusion and the delayed response.

Strangely, I had all three Fox noirs on order, like many others here and I was debating whether to call and cancel (there seeming to be no hope of it coming through any time soon), but DDD just cancelled the whole order without any instructions from me, or indeed contacting me to tell me they had done it (or why they had done it).

No biggie, but I would have hoped for some form of communication.

My order got "upgraded" to UPS shipping as well. It's a $200 order, so it looks like they'll want $37.60 in brokerage.

That basically nullifies the savings from the sale, and I wouldn't have purchased at full price.

Ugh. What a mess.

Dave, what can we do about this?

Hmmm... thinking about it some more.

My order was $185.

Duty/handling from USPS/Canada post would be almost $35.

So, if the UPS brokerage is under $40, I'll probably just pay it. If it substantially more, then I will refuse it.

My brokerage would be $29 on my $113 order. Convert to CDN$ and get taxes to be around $19. So my total would be around $48 for everything with UPS.

With USPS, it would $19 + $5 = $24

i'm going to be refusing my order!

I was under the impression duty/taxes were included in the brokerage. If not, I will certainly refuse it.

Nope, you pay duties / taxes plus brokerage. The Brokerage is the fee they charge you to clear your package by customs. So you pay that plus your taxes.

Some people say if you have a UPS depot close to you, you can call UPS and clear your package yourself. And then you would only pay taxes.

Ok, I called UPS.

If it is shipped via AIR, you only pay your taxes (PST and GST)

If shipped by ground, and crosses the border, you have to pay the applicable brokerage fees, PLUS a $5.85 fee for them to pre-pay your taxes, PLUS your taxes.

So basically it's going to cost you $80 on a $200 package.

There's no way I'm paying it.

Dave,

According to UPS, the tracking number in my email.. while valid, isn't in their system. To them that means that it has yet to be picked up.

If that's the case, can it still be switched to USPS? Please advise asap.

Email me at damfam at gmail dot com.

Thanks!

*EDIT/UPDATE*

I called DDD customer service, and spoke to a very nice girl.

I gave her my order number and she checked into it. Apparently it was a mistake - my order did NOT go out UPS, it went USPS. BEcause of the policy of upgrading shipments, the computer automatically assigned it UPS and a tracking number, but the shipping dept. apparently doesn't ship UPS to canada, only USPS. So it did go out USPS, even though the email states UPS>

Hmmm so that means all my order that claim to he UPS and their tracking # are not working. Really went out via USPS? If so thats good.

CS wasn't helpful to me the 2 times I called them. Kept saying there was nothing they could do about it! All they did was add a note to my account saying "always ship USPS".

.
That's what she told me. She said the shipping dept won't send Canadian orders via UPS because it is cost prohibitive.

I honestly think she must have talked to someone in shipping, because she put me on hold for a good 10 min while she went to find the info for me.

I feel much better.

DAVE:

Can you verify this for us?

Ok, so i got the huge list of titles via email. But there are no prices listed. Can I pick any of the titles for the same price that Boomerang was ($9.99) or do I have to look up the prices for each one?

Added: Ok, I checked the site and seems most of the listed titles are $10.33 each. So if I choose one will I be charged $10.33, $9.99, or $8.26 (what the DVD would be if I ordered it during the 20% off sale)? If it is anything higher than the $8.26, I'll just order the DVD during the 20% off sale instead and cancel the rest of my buy one get one free order since the titles I want have already shipped. Does that make sense?

That is some list!!! I wonder how they compiled it? It will take me awhile to look at it.
