It was an excellent pilot, can't wait to actually check it out in HD.

Oh and B.A., you've certainly becoming the TV Talk master thread starter.

Unlike everybody else in the forum, I haven't seen this yet. So I look forward to giving the show a try. The timeslot has me puzzled...seems a bit intense for a "family hour" show.

Yeah - they should take a lesson from NBC. They know how to play the Wednesday family hour right - with severed heads on Hawaii.

Unfortunately, I don't have much to do at work right now and, as some of you know, I haven't gotten the chance to sleep as much lately so this keeps me busy at work in the morning for a few minutes.

One minor gripe about tv - Closed captioning is too slow. Half the time a scene is over or they have cut away from an actor and I am still reading the captions!!!

I'm just wondering how they are going to juggle plotlines with 48 characters!

Is this going to be opposite Smallville all season? I was looking forward to TiVoing this one, but I don't want to miss the Smallville opener...

I loved the Lost 2-hour pilot (ComiCon version)-- and had looked forward to seeing the differences...

Why not watch one and record the other?

That'll be the plan starting next week. I'm in rehearsals every night this week for a play opening Friday... I could even record the second show on the PC or VHS tonight if I had things set up--but I'll only be home for about 5 minutes after work, and will have other priorities...

The Reuter's review on Lost today makes it sound like it has very little competition--they say "no one dominates" the night and mention only Hawaii... I find that an odd view considering how much Smallville has played a role in various programming and counter-programming decisions in the past 2 years...

I have avoided the pilot on the web, waiting to see it on ABC. Can't wait for tonight (I did cheat with Desperate Housewives, and watched the leaked pilot and thought that it was great - I wonder how the casting change will affect the show, if at all).

I'm starting to wish this was a two-hour premiere.

Yeah, it sucks we have to wait for the rest of the pilot (kinda like Firefly). At least they are showing the episodes in order (kinda unlike Firefly).

Oh, was this originally a 2 hour pilot? I thought it ended kinda abrupt.

I thought it was a 2 hour premier based on what I read. I'm disappointed. I was very intrigued.

I'm not sure I like the science-fictioney aspect of that "monster" thing though.

Yeah, I am not so sure about it either. For all I know, it could be revealed in the next episode but I doubt it. I hope that it does not get dragged out too long, and I hope it is not something stupid (ex. The Village)

The one most of us had previously viewed was the complete 2 hour leaked pilot. Don't know why ABC decided to cut this by an hour as the 2 hour pilot was really a wonderfully complete and cohesive storyline. Like we really needed a friggin 2 hour Season Premiere of "The Bachelor".

I missed most of the first half. FWIU, these people are marooned on an island via a plane wreck and there seems to be some foul tempered creature on it with them.

Could it be they landed on the Island of Dr. Moreau?

Looks like there's a goddamned T-Rex loose on this island.

Damn Bachelor has to be 2 hours, and Lost fans get the shaft.

I'm pretty sure I already saw this in the theaters. It was called Jurassic Park III.

That is the kind of shit that pisses me off.

I loved it - it was definitely too short.

My wife lost interest as soon as it looked like there was a prehistoric/supernatural creature on the island. She's definitely not big on the sci-fi.
