What, they didn't want us sepo's to have nice things? Good thing BD has all that region coding or other hemisphere's might get to enjoy this, too.
That is pretty shitty. Is there any kind of possible explanation for this other than wanting to double dip the release?

No, there is no other possible explanation. This is Fox's modus operandi.

Ill most likely buy the Australian version in December.

This is either 2 things (both bad).

1. Poor planning on the part of Fox
2. Wanting to double-dip

Do you have a region free Blu Ray player?

Am I the only "Die Hard" fan who didn't think that the PG-13 version was terrible? Yes, I'm certainly looking forward to seeing the unrated version on 11/20, but I will also be picking up the Blu-Ray as well, simply because I want to see the action in high definition. And if they double-dip, oh well; I'm a sucker for a double-dip, I must say. Just my opinion, though.

I loved it. Second best in the series for me. But knowing there is the unrated that would solve a lot of the piss-poor dubbing is preventing me from buying anything less.

I completely agree. I loved the theatrical release, but was slightly annoyed by the idiotic dubbing that they were forced into editing for a PG-13 rating. But if I'm going to own it, those slight annoyances over time will drive me out of my damn mind. I'll pick up the unrated preowned on a Hollywood Video sale or something and wait out the BD unrated cut.
