Some of the dungeons are but i'd say 90 % of the time it'll take at least an hour to reach the next save point. The good thing is you can avoid battles so if you need to save, you can always rush...

At first i did but then it got to the point where i wanted to finish up to get to my other games. So i just stuck with easy. Cant remember what Grade i had.
