I didn't see any ownership, either. It was just a stack of wood next to the RR tracks. I had to have a log from where Laura was murdered. I figured it was providence.

I did the same thing. I didn't find the actual train car (as I think it had been moved), but I did find the general area of the scene. I even found a stack of firewood off to the side of the tracks...

I fully agree, however, I assume her character was still intended to be underage. Cooper was a man of integrity and would not have broken such a rule, regardless of the obvious chemistry.
