I agree with you there. I dislike this genre in general, but Mario 64 is one of my alltime favorite games. I hated Banjo, Donkey Kong 64, Jack and Daxter, and just about every other 3D platform...

To each his own. I loved it, even those super hard obstacle courses. Not every game is for everyone, but Miyamoto did another amazing job with this game.
