old receiver help

i have an old yamaha prologic receiver...i want to decode the new dts, thx...etc...the stuff out there now...do i have to buy a new receiver with all the decode hardware or can i upgrade some how...

if you viewed a movie with the normal aspect ratio(tv show on dvd) on a widescreen tv...what would the picture look like?

power shutoff of 47tx pioneer receiver

I have the VSX-47TX THX Ultra2 A/V Receiver from Pioneer, when i play a certain dvd with a high pitch sound ie. glass breaking....the receiver shut power down automatically...but play it same scene...

Anyone have problems getting the free dvds from the sony offer.
I'd bought the sony dream system dvd player and suppose to receive some dvds. Its been a couple months and have not received any. ...
