I was 8 points out of first, gave the most popular answer, and we have a new leader, but now I'm even further out of first. That's not mathematically possible.

It was reverse

Yikes. Only 1 other person for Green Lantern. Must be a Marvel crowd.

I thought you threw a controller through your laptop :hscratch:

The desktop fried two or three weeks ago. I thought it was just the video card. Since the laptop was working fine, I was too lazy to take it in for diagnostics and/or just swap out the video card. Plus, for some reason, even though I have an external modem, the internet doesn't work when the modem isn't plugged into the desktop. So I just left the non-functioning desktop hooked up, surfed the internet on my laptop, and ignored the problem.

Then on Saturday, I threw a controller* through my laptop, and suddenly I was down to zero computers. So I took both in thinking both would sit in the shop while they replaced the video card on the desktop and the screen on the laptop. Except they informed me that parts and labor on a screen made it about even with just buying a new laptop, so I did so. I had them transfer the data from the old laptop to the new (as well as the data from the desktop, which they also put on the new laptop).

So my expectation when I left the office today was I'd pick up the laptop, but I wouldn't have my desktop back, which would mean either 1) I wouldn't be able to get on the internet, or 2) I'd have to spend time playing around with the modem and the WiFi router to figure out why the internet wasn't working in the absence of the desktop (there's no reason it should need to be plugged in to the desktop for the WiFi to work). Since I'm lazy (see my first paragraph), I figured I'd have to wait until the desktop was repaired. But, when I went to pick up the laptop, they gave me the news about the motherboard, at which time I decided the desktop was also overdue for an upgrade and just went ahead and bought a new one of those too.

And that is way more than anyone ever wanted to know about the $2000 worth of computers I bought in the last 48 hours or so.

* I actually didn't throw it that hard -- I was just tossing it on the couch and it wound up hitting the laptop at just the wrong angle. But I do like the myth of JasonF as the short-tempered gamer who destroys computers when he loses a game.

I'm surfing from my new Toshiba Satellite, which is very nice. Two laptops ago, I had a Toshiba Satellite that I bought around 2002 or so. This one is much nicer. It's also nicer than the Dell Inspiron it's replacing. Supposedly, it's got a 5-6 hour battery life, which will be nice for when I take it on airplanes.

The desktop is a Gateway. I haven't done more than plug it in yet.

I'll assume Steel = Iron Man, which still baffles me. But I'm terrible at Sheep. Fine movie, but still.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Nick. I'm going to try to do Comic Book Sheep Round 2 before the end of July.

I did specify in my answer that I chose Comic Book Sheep because it was the only game in which I was even in the running. Not like tonight. :(

Is this the same computer you broke in frustration? Seriously, look up a walkthrough. They are free.

Why do you think the laptop was open? I was using a walkthrough, but there's a difference between knowing what to do in a game and being able to execute.

When you get stuck you should ask your wife to help you.

That was probably the only time I'll ever have the lead in any sheep game. It was fun while it lasted.
