Many dates, fewer cities. I think we will see more big artist tours take that strategy going forward. Probably a lot cheaper to mount a tour that way.

And they don't need to worry about someone cruising the freeways, highways and backroads on their motorcycle to a bunch of cities. ;)

Just noticed the extra dates
cool, too, that they’re spreading them out with a day off in between, at least in Fort Worth.
Since this is in June, my kid will be out of school so I can shoot for the non-weekend shows, which may be easier to get.

If I can afford it I may hit all 4 LA Dates. We'll see...

Well, I applied for a Citibank card just to take advantage of the Citi Presale. Since I'm flying solo for this, I'm hoping I can score a decent ticket for one of the Fort Worth or Chicago shows.

Here's hoping Chain Lightning makes it into the set!!

Waited in line for 45 minutes to see the seats for Cleveland. $185 was the cheapest for the top row back. Lower bowl was starting at $600+. Middle bowl was starting at $300+. Looks like I'm skipping this one unless another presale has more reasonable prices.

Well that sucks.

Re: RUSH-50 Something tour 2026!!!!

Got a ticket for two of the four Fort Worth shows. My Wednesday ticket is in front row lower bowl next to the stage (Alex Side) and my Friday ticket is front row upper bowl near the stage (Geddy side). A little over $600 for both tickets. The fees from Ticketmaster were bonkers. Shows for Fort worth started at $100.

Since they said they will be mixing up the songs each night I hope against hope they toss in songs from their solo efforts. I would absolutely lose my mind if the played Shut Up Shuttin' Up from Alex's Victor album.

Madison Square were $100-$900 for non VIP according to the info provided during the queue. By the time I got through the cheapest were $325 for mid upper bowl. Since I know how their sales work they only put the VIP and a limited amount for Citi. (Always funny because Chase is the big sponsor) The bulk will be available during the general so one more bite at the apple.

I got pretty good lower bowl (in the back) for the low, low price of $295 a ticket. The ONLY reasons I'm doing this are a) it is Rush, and b) it's the last show of the tour so very possibly the last Rush show ever (I know, I know, that already happened once)

In any event, the days of $50 tickets are over thanks to corporate greed and organized, pervasive scalping. I paid under $100 for very good mid-tier tickets in Madison Square Garden for R40.

As a friend keeps telling me, we're not rich, but we're not poor either. Nobody in the nursing home is sitting around today thinking, gee, I wish I still had that $300 I spent on a good time all those years ago.

Well, I know I'm going to be in for at least half of what I paid if I wait until Monday's presale or the general, but I'm really happy with what I got and I don't have to stress over it anymore. Friday was completely dead at work so I was able to take the time to concentrate on it.

Also, other than Maiden (if they come anywhere close) I won't be seeing any other big shows for the foreseeable future, so what the hell?

Sort of a semi-residency.

We've sort of been moving in this direction, with the really big acts only playing major cities and expecting their fans to travel to see them. People do tend to travel a lot more than they did in generations past.

Re: RUSH-50 Something tour 2026!!!!

I'm actually kind of surprised to see this tour pre-selling as well as it seems to. It's only two-thirds of a band that's had the same line-up since 1975. They have a hardcore (and probably shrinking) fanbase but have never been a mainstream draw.

Now, me, I'd probably go to one of these concerts, but I wouldn't go out of my way to attend. If one was within easy driving distance (say, the 100 miles/90 minutes) and didn't cost an arm and a leg, I'd probably be there. I've already seen Rush a couple of times, so this isn't a priority for me.

Judas Priest and Alice Cooper are doing a big tour right now, and the sales haven't been good. Even cancelled at least one date due to low sales.

They do have a rabid following elsewhere in the world that were not able to see them on the R40 Tour since Neil wanted to do a limited number of shows and Europe/South America were not included. The other thing is that when Neil passed the pandemic was in full swing so no tribute concerts or anything like that. Many will see this as a final way to say goodbye to Neil and enjoy the music one more time.

I'm thinking about going to one of the Toronto shows (about a 90 minute drive for me) but I'm not liking the prices I'm seeing, so we'll see.

My family and I saw Alice last summer at the local casino theater in Niagara Falls, ON. Tickets were around $75 each which these days is pretty good (and we had good seats), there were maybe a few thousand seats in the theater but it was far from sold out. He put on a great show as always, but I don't think I need to see him again a year later, and I've never been much of a Priest fan.

Re: RUSH-50 Something tour 2026!!!!

The first time I had a chance to see Rush was in high school 1975. They were opening for Montrose. I didn't have the money and couldn't go. My two best friends went and got busted for pot driving home. Their parents made them join the navy under the buddy system to expunge their record. I am so glad I didn't go.
First time I saw them was Jan. 1977. They opened for Ted Nugent. This was halfway between the release of All The World's A Stage and Farewell To Kings. It was general admission so was able to get down at the stage.
Second and last time was Feb. 1980. Permanent Waves had just come out. The roof of this particular arena had collapsed a year prior due to the weight of snow. This concert was the very first event at the arena since the roof had been repaired. They opened with 2112 and it was loud, super loud. I kept looking at the roof, hoping the sound waves didn't bring it down again.

If Rush plans to add a few more shows, I wouldn't be surprised if they book a date at TD Coliseum. The arena re-opens in 45 days and it's primarily focused on events, and OVG are already showing how serious they are after investing 300 mill on the renos. It would be great for those in the Hamilton, St. Catherine's, Niagara Falls and even Buffalo area who don't want the hassle of dealing with going to Toronto. Not sure if Hamilton easier than Toronto for you.

It certainly would seem fitting as Peart was born in the Hammer.

Oof, that was pricey. But it'll be a one time thing. Grabbed a ticket from the first show back.

Now my Citi card will pay off!! I was able to use it for the initial pre-sales but was limited in my credit limit since I did not have my physical card. Going to try and add one more show in a different city.

Now the extra cities have added dates.

I'm counting 58 shows so far.

And just like that, I spent a stupid amount of money for this (second show in San Antonio). I just wanted a decent floor seat for one show and these were there when I got in, then I accidentally swiped out (on my phone) and when I got back in there was one left.

You know you can't post that without telling us how much that was. Sounds super expensive, but extremely cool too.

Haha, well...the TICKET price was $2003. Let's not talk about the absolutely ridiculous scaling Ticketmaster fee.
